I've gotta be honest - more than just a wee bit excited for Nov 22nd!

And I'm not even Scottish!

I've been along for the ride since PB started, and found the first couple of months thrilling. The universe is massive, the graphics and sound terrific and I really enjoy flying the ships and getting acquainted with a necessarily complex set of controls. As time dragged on, I started to lose a little bit of faith. I realized, as recently as this week, that my issue was that I'd locked myself into 1 play style: bounty hunting. I'd tried everything (briefly), but shooting stuff had been my primary motivation. So this week I decided to take up trading - as in getting stuck in deep to understand all the mechanics. And I learned a ton of stuff about how to find profitable trade routes, how to get a sense as to which products were likely to net me the most credits etc. I think exploring might be next - as in, I need to do it "properly". So me, the key has been variety (and the learning that comes with variety). And so I'm looking forward to gamma with a much renewed sense of optimism. This game is great and has the potential to be AWESOME!

That is all.

CAN NOT WAIT!

I keep playing but now the dread of losing all my progress is kinda getting to me. It is making my behavior a bit more...dangerous. However, being a bit more wreckless has made me realize I'm a better pilot than I thought!

yea i seriously cannot wait! Got a few friends that havn't played yet but will be for gamma, will be so much fun to meet up have so much to explore :)

22nd can't come soon enough, now just to find a way to pass time faster hmm

Bought a nice viper just for the last few days before 22nd. Going to be out hunting until then. Then I guess its another grind.

I'm hoping to see that this lead up to the player wipe gives a preview of what the end of the world would be like...mass murderers running about, commanders openly defying SAs, unshielded ships bumping in the dark...its going to be bedlam

I suspect this won't happen on a large scale. Why? Because, deep down and contrary to what some have heard, there are some secretly worried that this may not amount to a full wipe. Some may think that not all funds will be wiped, and so are reluctant to squander their virtual credits on repair or insurance bills.. Some are worried that their stats aren't fully wiped and may be adversely impact by certain actions. I can't prove this, but believe it to be true.

I've been wondering about the schedule on November 22nd with the Preview Build being released on the same day as the Premier Event.

I'm expecting they may shut down the game servers at around the time the Premier Event starts and get to work updating the servers. As the live twitch stream of the Premier Event is wrapping up I'd expect David Braben to announce that the Preview Build is now live and we all eagerly download it.

At least that is how I hope the day unfolds.

I am very much looking forward to getting out of the cage so that i can trade and explore my way
across the galaxy and even take on some missions if they are going my way.

And.... I will take on any pirate that gets in my way.

It takes more than just a good aim with a good ship to be Elite. One must know all aspects to a much broader picture.

Shok.
