I've made an amazing discovery!

And that discovery?

The less I come to this particular forum the more I enjoy the game. Amazing!

I am a ED fan but I am not blind to certain issues with it that need fixing. Found one myself with passenger missions, came here and asked, got my answer from helpful Cmdr's for this minor bug, and went back to playing. So this place does have its uses. And the other forums are always useful. But I do not come here near as much as I used to and then it's a quick peruse of thread titles to see if any may pertain to me and I am gone.

And before anyone thinks this is a "slam" and feels some odd need to defend this place(?) it doesn't matter to me if you are here 24/7 or never read this post at all. I don't care. Issues here seem to be 1/3 user error, 1/3 minor bugs that you almost have to look for to see, and 1/3 real live programming issues. And, of course, the folks who don't like the games direction or their personal feature request that it lacks.

But if you feel so unhappy and miserable with ED before you uninstall stop coming here for a week or two and you might be surprised at the fun you are having. That the galaxy breaking issues that aflame this forum really don't effect you much at all. Stop hanging around here so much and wallowing in the negativity. You may find that ED, while certainly needing some tweaks, may not be the spawn of Satan after all. Just play...

I beg to differ.. Once there was story of a cmdr stuck in a hole on a distant planet with no ship. I think i had the most fun I have ever had when that happened. I wouldn't have known about it if I wasn't on the forum.

I'm currently around 30 KLy from the bubble, and maybe 13 KLy from the nearest station. I'm laughing my pants off at the moment :D

I spend more time in this forum than I do in game!!

I probably spend a good 12-14 hours a week browsing & posting.

I play 2 evenings, about 6-8 hours a week.

So I've also made a discovery, the less I play this particular game, the more I enjoy these forums. Amazing! :D

Could not agree more......:)

Ha, quite true. Its the same with almost everything though. Go on vacation for a week and all is well. Get back, watch the news and you'd think you just missed out on world-war III. Same here, if you read the forums you'd be forgiven for believing the worst game in history had just been released.

In a way it seems to be a bit worse with sci-fi stuff. As far as I can see, sci-fi seems to attract a somewhat higher percentage of people who, lets put it mildly, are very passionate and dont like sudden changes much. Long time ago there was this program where you'd join a school for special-needs children for a day (mostly psychiatric issues, sometimes physical issues combined). What you see on these forums when, say, the Python gets a 5% nerf on yaw or something reminds me very much of how those kinds responded when they were told lunch would be five minutes later: shock, horror, confusion, anger and deep frustration sometimes ending in violence.

If you like to discuss ED, use some sub-forums (exploration, ships) or help people out in the newcomers forum. The general-discussion section is more for enjoying the colourful feathers of our species. :D

LOL. I think there are many of us who sneak on here during work. I'm on a conference call right now. I often wish there was a text based website interface that you could muck about with your ship etc.

I need to check the forum regularly to see if they have fixed the 1K missions issue.
I won't play again until this is fixed.
But you know how it works, you miss playing the game more and more, until you don't miss it anymore...

Wouldnt Coriolis.io and edshipyard.com work?

They would, but not sure if you played Fallout 4, it came with a companion app where you could browse your current location, map, missions, gear, stats, perks. It was awesome!

I too am browsing at work... It may actually be closer to 3 hours a day I spend killing time on here...

For my part, I feel like I have to check with the forum daily (and often "daily" becomes "constantly") to find out how I'm playing the game incorrectly.

Ah, so _that's_ how you get to "Dangerous" rep then. Forum Grinding.

Pretty much!

Grinding the forum, farming the upvotes, covering all bases with both silly posts and attempts at informative threads :)

Plus I've been here posting on and off since 5th Jan 2015...

I wish there was a way to see your most "upvoted" comment. I'm sure it'd be one where I lost my patience and posted some controversial slating of a guy complaining.

You're 30,000 light years away from civilization and you still have pants?

If I'm in my living room, I don't wear pants. I have to put them on to go outside for now. But when I'm a little older, I'll be able to get away with going outside in my undies and they'll just say I'm a eccentric old man. :)
