I've no self control...

Yes, I figured that the price/performance of the next gen card would be hard pressed to match it. Heck, it can be hard to beat the price with most 1070's... A few down around $399 but most are well above it. The price is now $579 but I can get it on EVGA's site for $449.

I'm afraid my self control is also lacking. I was waiting for the next gen cards but they are already long overdue with just speculation about any release date. On top of that I read somewhere (again probably speculation) that there is now a surplus of 10 series cards and as a result nVidia don't want to drop their price, but rather intend to add £200 to the price of the next gen cards.

So, fed up waiting and not wanting to get fleeced if/when the new cards come out, I have just got myself a refurbished 1080Ti for just over £500.

Definitely a big performance improvement over my 980Ti. Although the thing I've noticed most is how quiet the 1080Ti is. The fans on my old 980Ti were screaming when playing ED in VR :D

Upside is you never buy yourself socks, not unless you are really really grown up.

I am getting there...

Mostly because I need large socks.
Most common, almost so common some consider them 'one size fit all', in the 10-12 range.
I need a us size 14 shoe...
Mostly because of width though.

Then again not a big surprise I find my commanders feet to seem small..

Its a slippery slope- next you'll want trousers in pastel shades and then thats the end.
