I've not been able to connect to the servers once since owning the game

My client pops up a wonderful, plain "Network Error" dialog the second the client opens. No error code name, just a plain dialog. I have troubleshooted this a million different ways from watching the game's traffic via Wireshark to configuring my router and the game's network settings any way possible, none of it works. I'm posting here now because even the support team has stopped responding to me.

Two weeks ago I submitted my ticket and due to high traffic it didn't get looked at until I posted on the subreddit 3 days later and a support member elevated my ticket. They gave me more basic troubleshooting to attempt and told them to respond with everything I've tried, which I did both with no success. It's now been another week and a half since support first contacted me and I've gotten no responses from their first message. I was really expecting to get help from them once it was elevated given that I've not been able to do anything except the tutorial offline but I guess not. Is there anyone here that can help?

There are some knowledgeable people around, that may be able to help.
But you need to give all the boring basic info first, so they can start asking the right questions. :)

On a PC I have to start my ED launcher as an administrator otherwise it never lets me start the game. Knowing a lot more than 6 years ago I could reinstall it to another folder but haven't bothered. Just one idea that might help.

Being P2P, not sure that's a great idea

Should make no difference. As long as you keep your PC secure with firewalls and anti-virus then you are at no greater risk than connected to a server. Port-sniffers will find your vulnerabilities no matter the connection method.
