Discussion I've released an iOS companion app for Elite Dangerous - Stellar Cartographer!

Hello,

I've been working on a companion app for elite dangerous in my spare time and it's finally been released on the app store.
It's called Elite Dangerous Stellar Cartographer (EDSC) and it allows you to navigate the whole galaxy entirely within your favourite iOS device. You can grab it here:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/edsc/id1172526270

I have a bunch of screenshots of it in action, take a look: http://imgur.com/a/6CMnu

Here are the features so far:

  • Navigate the whole Galaxy!
  • Plot and navigate routes directly in the Star Map
  • Bookmark favourite Stars for faster navigation
  • Find Nearby Commodities
  • Find Trade Routes
  • View System Information
  • View Station Information

It uses data sourced from the EDDB API and I plan to connect the in-game API in the near future so you can get a live GPS (Galactic Positioning System) coordinate and more up to date commodity information. I'm also planning to port this app to android for all those android users out there - I'll let you know when that happens.
My overall goal with this project is to get the in app experience on a similar level to the in game galaxy map.

I'm very interested in any feedback or future feature suggestions from the community. Fire away! :)

Hi there

I just wanted to say that I have downloaded and used your app and really like it. I am a PS4 player eagerly awaiting the release of ED on PS4 and have found it useful for my research – looking at jump distances and trade routes etc...
I don't have any suggestions at the moment but just wanted to reply to your thread and let you know I have found it really useful so I hope you keep on developing it. Cheers!
