Jacques background - The android, not the station - call for background please

All I know about Jacques is it is an old android that has his own station that he lets people visit.

So please kind people of the forums would you care to provide some more links to other info on Jacques out there.

Do any of the books offer history on this?
Was there any info in galnet on the history of Jacques?
Is there going to be a detailed history of Jacques?
Do people want a detailed history of Jacques?

Is it appropriate to call Jacques a he or an it ?
Why is Jacques around as I though android level AI was forbidden?

What does the android look like ?

Is the android an individual human sized entity or just built into the station and there is no android ?

I feel Jacques is an interesting element to the game but would like a lot more info please.

From what I recall reading on the forums...

He was made into a cyborg on the side of a Federation war. He became a bartender and eventually earned enough to buy the station that holds his bar and then outfit it with the technology needed to travel the galaxy.

I'm sure more is mentioned in some of the books or whatnot though. I haven't read them, but I do plan on it... sooner or later.

Thanks for the info. So he must be rather old if he brought a station by doing just a bartending job !

I think he must of made some other money on the side, as a consultant, making investments etc... Wish we could have a detailed history...

To sum these two links up:

Jaques was introduced into the Elite universe in the short story 'All that Glisters' by David Massey. The story was part of a collection that shipped with Frontier: Elite II back in 1993.

Where does Jaques end and the station begin? Good question. His torso is attached to a mobile pedestal that runs along tracks in the bar. Essentially: He's built into the station. Here's a picture of Jaques taken from the pages of 'Stories of Life of the Frontier':

Thanks, cool, so I suppose a really detailed history and stories of his past is what I am looking for and if this does not exist it would be great if it could be created.
