Fiction Jameson/Jones: Supermassive - an Elite universe novel

Backers should have received an update from Andre. I'll not repeat the details, but it sounds like he's had a fairly awful year. He's offering refunds, but he may still be writing a book, and is asking backers for feedback.

Yeah, I told him to continue with an ED book, but emphasised the need to embrace the new fiction. I don't care about my money spent, project backing is inherently risky, but I want to see more ED books.

By the way, anyone who has read the e-mail can see the sort of psychological mess one can get into in this situation. It's obviously hard for him to finally write this e-mail. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other book projects are in the same position. Go easy on them - it's hard to admit failure, especially after an already harrowing time.

I think it was remarkably brave.

I consider the money has gone, so he can take all the time he needs, hopefully he can give us an update from time to time.

No sign of an update email here, and I'm pretty sure I backed this one (I'm not going to get out of the bath to drip up the hall to my office to check). Perhaps you could pm me with the text?

Andre has e-mailed backers again. He sounds much more positive and motivated. He'll be reworking his story with an aim to getting a first draft by the middle of the year. He has also said that any backers who want a refund are welcome to e-mail him and he will arrange to have the money returned without question.

Sorry for the necromancy, but I can confirm I just received a refund from the author.

The accompanying note:

Note from Andre Czausov:
This is a capital return payment based on your original investment in my Pozible crowdfunded literary project "Jameson/Jones: Supermassive". The creative project is ongoing, however in view of my incapacity to deliver the work within a reasonable timeframe, I have decided to remit your capital investment. This payment consists of: - The value of your original outlay, indexed @2% over four years - A small goodwill payment of $US5 in appreciation of your support. Best wishes for the holiday season, André Michael Czausov

Thanks, Michael, and best wishes to you too.

Also got an unexpected refund.
If you read this: Thank you Michael, this was a surprise.
You say the project is still ongoing. I sincerely hope you manage to complete it, and please do notify if and when a book does become available to purchase. Either here or by mailing the original backers.

Best of luck

Gimi

I'm still very much hoping that the book is completed - though it will presumably now be checked by Frontier using a different "lore yardstick".
