Japan DLC

We are in such a need for a Japanese theme, and it’d make sense as a DLC as there’s fun wildlife to include too!

The Tanuki, of course, is first choice. We always need more cute fluffy creatures. The Iriomote cat would be amazing, it’s pretty rare and very few people know of it, and would greatly benefit from attention thanks to a dlc.

The Japanese Serow would be phenomenal, as might the Sika deer, but the Serow is honestly prettier in my opinion. The Green Pheasant is the national bird and would be a stunning addition!

There are copious animals for exhibits, like the Japanese Giant Salamander, Beauty Rat Snake, and more!

I'd love a Japan Pack. My animal picks would be;

1. Japanese serow.
2. Raccoon dog.
3. Japanese sika.
4. Green pheasant.
5. Japanese fire-bellied newt.

I wouldn't do the giant salamander simply because a large section of the community thinks giant salamanders should be habitat animals. I totally disagree but I'd rather avoid the endless discussions about it.

For theming, a big expansion on the East Asia theme would be nice. I'd love to be able to place big Torii gates and such.

Could maybe even work as a Animal Pack. I'd definitely want both the Tanuki and the Red Fox. If we'll ever get Guest-Animal Interactions it would also be nice if they would include a Vending Machine or a Shop where Guests can buy Deer Crackers or something else to feed the Deer with

That would be a hard sell, I think. There isn't an abundance of Japanese animals to fill seven habitat slots.

The four I posted, plus the Hokkaido bear. I guess the wild boar is an option, but I don't think the red fox would be included because the raccoon dog is far more 'Japanese' and they wouldn't put two canines in one pack. Then there's one slot left that isn't easy to fill. The first thing that pops into my head is the Iriomote cat, but they don't do well in captivity IIRC and the only one successfully kept was a rescue.

Might help with Sales though if they also include multiple Species that are also found somewhere else. Didn't know the Iriomote Cat is doing so poorly in Captivity. Weird because other Subspecies of the Leopard Cat seem to be kept in Zoos successfully

Its the most commonly kept quail in captivity and wouldnt be much smaller then the prariedog or meerkat. Also if we should ever get aviaries they would be awesome additions as comates for aviary birds.
And in general, allways a fan of small animals, birds and domestic animals

Due to the Fact that Quails are also farmed for their Eggs, they would also be a nice Inclusion for a Farm Area

As a major Japan obsessive, I'd welcome this. But realistically, I don't think it'd happen, especially if support ends this year. Thankfully we've gotten two of the three species I most heavily associate with Japan already, and I'm crossing my fingers harder than anyone for the tanuki.

I can't speak for everyone, but for me there are a few reasons;

1. Asia as a whole deserves more than a scenery pack, as did Africa.
2. Asia is large and biodiverse enough to be subdivided into several packs, Japan is just one such possibility. India, the Middle East, the Himalayas, and Northern Eurasia are all regions which could easily fill their own packs, too.
3. Speaking personally, I absolutely love Japan. I love the landscapes of Japan, the architectural styles, the people, the foliage, the unique relationship between Shinto and nature, and I'd love a dedicated Japan Pack with some dedicated Japanese pieces (rather than generalised "East Asia" pieces) and animals to create either a Japanese zoo or a zoo with a dedicated Japanese-themed area.

7) Japanese boar
8 ex) Mamushi (Japanese moccasin)

We already have japanese building prop, just some tori gate and some enrichment.

They would be a really nice Replacement for the Himalayan Brown Bears that lived in my Zoo. It even lives where it is located

Really nice List of Animals. I think though for the Tanuki and the Wild Boar I would like the generalized Species better.

Are there any Animals already in the Game despite the Japanese Macaque and the Red Crowned Crane that live in Japan? The Entrance Area with native Species in my japanese Zoo looked so empty and the Crane probably wouldn't make it better. The implied Enclosures for Deer and Japanese Squirrels of course also didn't make it feel more alive

So happy that we got a few more Plants with the last Animal Pack. Maybe we could get a few with this one too then if they should decide to make it

I've also got to say I'd riot if the exhibit animal wasn't the fire-bellied newt. I used to keep them at home, they are just the most awesome little animals. The Japanese species is bigger than the Chinese species, too.
