OK, I checked with the authority on Jaques, Arubeto. I was mistaken in my suspicion that Gliese 1269 has been recently changed by the Devs. Pity, I was going to start a conspiracy thread. Oh well, conspiracy theories don't actually need any basis in fact.
.
But, noone seems to have known about the pristine metallic ring around planet A5. OK, Flash maybe, but he's clearly not a miner.
.
So I took my Conda to Gliese 1269 A5. For some reason the ring is nearly invisible from supercruise - so I crashed into it at speed. It was a challenge to mine. I did this largely by just bumping into roids, good thing the Conda has strong shields. Even with the lights on they were hard to see. I'm not sure why it's so dark there as the primary star is an orange giant. I can't really recomend this as a mining destination, but if you want to test your Jedi mining skills it could be a good place. THere is a RES or two there too, so it could be an interesting place for some bountyhunting.
