No, Jaques knows about the Thargoids and 22K ly away to build up a new earth and build up humanity in a safe haven from the Thargoids is more likely.

Plot twist, jaques is still jaques (he always was as eccentric and tripped-out as he is now) and it's the bubble that will be inundated with thargies and aliens and wombles-wombling-weapons-free and good 'ol crazy barman isn't actually crazy and is the last great hope for humankind.

I mean I am sure frontier couldn't possibly be this transparent, right? :D

Well, there are going to be 2 bubbles. When the Thargs arrive, one of them will start shooting at them, the other will inquire what they'd like to drink. If the answer isn't "your precious bodily fluids", it'll be fine.
