Jaques Station not moving?

I'd thought from what I read that Jaques station was going to be moving during the weekly downtime, it's not gone anywhere this week?

Is it a bug or was what I read just speculation?

I'd hoped to be blasted across the universe to places new...

its a manual dev injected thing and given all the other manual stuff they are attending to latley perhaps it has been forgotten. This is why i keep calling for this type of thing to have some automation to it so things can just "happen" allowing the devs to focus on more important things im sure a script could be written up quickly to move this station around

I don't think the intention was that it moves every week. Just that it will move regularly, and *if* it moves, it will be during an update.

Im pretty sure that the team responsible for moving the station around arent the same team who will be squashing bugs. With the level of specialisation needed to develop games these days, its doubtful the sound team, or graphics team, or AI team, or UI team are the ones responsible for moving the station. And its these specialist teams that would be bug squashing in all but the most obvious of defects.

They definitely said it would be moving with every standard maintenance. This is the 2nd week in a row they haven't bothered with it though, so I guess it's time for me to go find something else to do.

I would presume its not even the devs that have to move the ship. I would have hoped that the devs provided the storyteller(s) with a tool that enables the position to be updated and this is then fed into the database.

I believe it's the Devs that do this manually. And most have been at a Games conference this week I think so....

I was thrilled by the idea to park my ship in the station and be taken away to somewhere else and use it as a forward operating base.
But after seeing where current communtiy goals are placed (500.000 ls away from entry points) i don't trsut them anymore.
I don't want to wake up in uninhabited space, with a station that is half an hour away from jumping into the system.
Or even, after you miss the next Stationjump, being stuck on the other side of the galaxy when system distances exceed your FSD capabilites.
Or, as it is right now, sitting inside the station, doing nothing, waiting for it to jump.

Another great opportunity missed and thrown away.

I once worked at an Airfield, they had a "redundant" power supply there and so they didn't make a big fuss about using UPS and the like - there was a big switch marked "Mains <> Generator" and yeah, it's much like it sounds, a big comedy switch.

The switch had to be manually cranked from one to the other setting, of course in the middle, when the contacts were broken on both sides, there was nothing, and all power to the site was cut. Lights were out and nobody was home.

Just sayin'

Posted this elsewhere but I'll re-post here ...

Had a brilliant plan today which was fun but with a slight anti-climax. So I'd filled up on rares around Witchhaul-Zeessze and instead of flying them back to Lave decided to take them to Jaques (which I hadn't visited yet). Did some exploration on the way and got to the system with 5 mins before reboot. As I came out of hyperspace I got the "main fuel tank depleted" warning. I loved the idea that if I didn't dock in time I'd be left stranded without a station to refuel at. Anyway, there she was and a pretty darn cool sight she was too. Did a quick circuit to take in the view and docked just in time. Noted where I was and how much profit my rares were worth but didn't sell, my cunning plan being that Jaques would jump somewhere really remote and my rares would then be worth a fortune. I'd sell them and then be first out the door to explore a brand new area. Of course it could backfire horribly, how hilarious would it be to find Jaques parked off Witchhaul after the reboot! Anyway, made a coffee, and then logged back in. Now, the anti-climax to this story is that Jaques hadn't moved. Rats!

I'd kind of assumed Jaques would move every Thursday. It should shouldn't it? I mean, that would be fun. Anyway, does anyone know when it is going to move?

Wait, what the heck? He did finally move? When did that happen? Because it sure as heck wasn't during the weekly maintenance.

And it only moved 5 light years...disappointing. Does Frontier realize how long it's going to take for it to get out of civilized space at this rate?
