Jitter only when game window has focus

I just got ED, running a 8kx and 4090 OC getting good framerate, but when the main game window has focus it jitters terribly. Absolutely unplayable and nauseating. Tracking is great in other titles or when the window doesn't have focus, but obviously without focus I have no input controls. Anyone else have this issue or a fix? I spent too long trying to debug this and I don't think I can return the game anymore.

Changing graphics settings has no effect on this. It happens even on the title main menu screen.

Same issue as this user: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/tracking-jitter.565334/

I found two other people through Reddit who had a similar issue (tracking shaking when main window has focus) and fixed it bit disabling Windows Game Mode but disabling WGM and Nvidia Game Bar/Steam Overlay did not fix it for me. At a loss honestly I've wasted hours trying odd things.

I've been having this problem, as well as frame drops, with my new MSI 4090 in ED Horizons. I use the Varjo Aero through Steam and even when I drop the resolution in the game settings and/or the head set it still remains. I have just learned that the Varjo has released a temporary workaround in their beta driver, which I'm going to download and use today. However, the main problem resides in the GPU itself (reading the discussion gaming groups in Reddit) and Nvidia is 'looking into it'. Apparently the same is happening in DCS.

I suspect it's just because you're on the bleeding edge so you need better GPU drivers, which just means NV need a bit of time - I speculate though. Not seeing the problem on the 3090 with the G2, no matter how I fettle the settings. Making me think not to update my GPU drivers... just in case.

I think you're probably correct on NV needing more time aXeL, they can't possibly cover every base with software within a few weeks of launching a brand new product. On the concerns over the 3090 and new Nvidia drivers, I have an EVGA 3090 ti which I swapped with the msi 4090, leaving the NV drivers in place, and the problems went away, so the new 40 series drivers are ok with the 30 series (as far as I can see). I did see a drop in FPS of around 25% from the 4090 to the 3090 ti, but that was expected :)
It seems the Varjo Aero beta drivers to fix the jitters problem (my own jitters problem I can solve by not drinking the night before) don't exist, at least I can't find them on the Varjo site nor when I google to find them...

Update to the tearing and jitter problems with Aero and 4090 card. I know, you're really excited about this! Varjo has release an updated driver for their headsets today, all great and normal now! Thank you for listening. :)

That’s great news - if @Xenodius can confirm then I’ll remove their issue report from the bug list thread 👍

Thought it might be helpful to add this from the Varjo website.
