This is the kind of ship that I could conceivably see being made available to buy, or as some sort of exclusive reward (like the Cobra MkIV). One that's not a logical choice for progression, just something a bit different. I'd like to see the Cobra MkI too.

The Cobra MkIV isn't a good ship, it has some uses but mostly it's just a different ship. I use one as a small miner. The older Cobra MkIII version might have a different cockpit view & fewer slots than the current MkIII, conceivably it could be lighter & weaker but with the same great handling & speed.

I'd quite like that.

I like the Cobra IV and have paid for my FDL just running passengers in one.

It could be a reward for visiting all the INRA sites. You would find "Vintage Cobra Mk.3" in the Tech Broker for x amount of mats needed to restore it after you find JJ's old Cobra.

+1 on the reward idea. This game really doesn't have any earned vanity items. (even the special weapons colors are just over written by the $1.00 colors) A chain mission, guiding you around INRA, with a small final (maybe segmented?) tech broker materials grind to fix up the ship you found and make it spaceworthy again. Would be cool to engineer it up, and show up to expeditions, races, and the like.

It would be cool to see a model of the restored ship inside Jameson Memorial. Maybe a dedicated pad with it permanently parked there or something.
