Welcome, citizen or soon to be citizen of the Empire. We, Lavigny's Legion, are recruiting. Every loyal son or daugther of the Empire is welcome to join our ranks.

Who are we?
We are the houseguards of the Lavigny's, one of the most important imperial senatorial dynasties, and as such also the personal guard of the current Emperor, Arissa Lavigny-Duval.
Led by our Praetor Council under the supervision of Admiral Lucius Lavigny, we serve to support the Empire and especially the Emperor herself. The ideals that mark Emperor Arissa’s reign, Security, Justice and Order, define all our actions. Fierce in our dedication to the cause we never back down.

From our HQ in Carthage, only a few jumps away from Kamadhenu and the imperial capital system Achenar, we keep watch over our own domain of more than four dozens star systems and plan and execute operations to expand imperial influence and dominance. In order to achieve this we maintain a large network of allies and are present in both the ALD Power community and the Imperial High Council.

Why should I join?
The Legion is the largest imperial squadron with more than 1500 members and is active around the globe and on all platforms (PC, XB1 and PS4). From the administration and spread of our own minor faction (BGS), over constant support of ALD and Imperial objectives in cooperation with our imperial and independent allies (Powerplay), to the direct fight against hostile commanders in and outside of imperial space (PvP) we offer a multitude of ways to get involved. Our Xeno-Defense initiative, EDGE, and it's deeds are unparalleled within the Empire. It provides reliable protection against the Thargoid threat. All in all our field of activity is vast and ever growing.
Everybody in our ranks does as much as he can and wants to. There are no obligations.
We are also proud of our member education program. It gives easy access to information about the intricate mechanics behind BGS and Powerplay, as well as deep insights in imperial and Legion lore. Voice lectures offer interested Legionnaires an opportunity to learn from the experience of our leadership and of experts from allied groups.

IMPERIAL HAMMER STRIKES DOWN FEDERAL ARMADA.

Shortly after New Year celebrations concluded across the Empire, a Federal naval fleet coordinated and executed a sudden incursion on the Imperial Sovereign space of Eta Antilea. Due to the nature of the sudden strike, the local Imperial auxiliary garrisoned at Froude Barracks failed to coordinate a successful counter attack against the invading fleet. Current intelligence gathered by the Office of Civic Operations and Relations (OCOR) indicate that the federal armada rallied at Hamilton Palza, an instalation controlled by Federal Reclamation Co., a Federally owned corporation. A OCOR spokesperson released the following statement to NCN Network:

"The evidence gathered shows that Pneuma Exploration, in collaboration with Federal Reclamation Co., both factions backed by the Federation, coordinated this invasion along with private entities sympathetic to their cause. It is unclear currently what their motive is for the attack in the Emperor's domain."

With the initial strike of the Federal fleet successful, a lock down of all Imperial facilities and ports was enforced by the local Internal Security Service branch. The Temporary Workers Party of Eta Antilea submitted an emergency request to the upper echelon of OCOR to request the intervention of Admiral Lucius Lavigny's 528TH Legion. The request was granted under emergency procedures by the Legion's Praetorian Prefecture. Legion fleet carriers were commissioned to shuttle in Imperial fighter support squadrons from the ranks of Her Majesty's Navy. The deployment of one Magestic Class Interdictor, the LLV Charybdis, was also issued.

The response fleet emerged through Witchspace in strategic points, breaking up the Federation's thinly spread blockade on the 13th of January, 3308. On the start of the following date, the system erupted once more into intense conflict when the LLV Charybdis came into contact with a Federal Farragut-Class Battle Cruiser when investigating a high-frequency signal source. The scene quickly escalated into a zone of high intensity combat, where fighter squadrons on both sides responded to their respective captial ship for fire support and engaged in ship to ship combat. At the conclusion of the encounter, the Federal Farragut was routed. With this loss, the strength of the Federal fleet began to crumble.

Over the course of the next 3 days, the Federal fleet felt the full swings of the Imperial Hammer resulting in a glorious, flawless victory on behalf of the Empire. Admiral Lucius Lavigny released this statement to NCN reporters:

Just as our forefathers fought to secure Achenar from invading Federal fleets over a millenia ago, we are still capable and willing. Anything less would be a insult to their sacrifices.

With security and peace restored for now in Eta Antilea, the situation could very well escalate once more in the foreseeable future with Pneuma Exploration unresponsive to diplomatic talks.

EMPEROR ARISSA RESCUED, IMPERIALS REACT. A ENRAGED ADMIRAL LAVIGNY STORMS SENATE FLOOR DURING HEARING

When the Imperial Herald broke news to citizens of the Empire, and to the Galaxy, that the Emporer had been recovered from year long captivity, such news brought fourth a slew of emotion, criticisms, concerns and questions from the Imperial population. Especially of matters concerning Imperial Sovereignty and internal corruption from within the highest echelons of Imperial government.

Many Imperials are angered and troubled by the fact that those closest to Her Majesty's presence, especially those of Her security detail, were ignorant or complacent, of Her kidnapping by the hands of NMLA benefactors and held for over a year in secret by Darkwater Inc. in the Summerland system.

This has led many from within the Empire to have a loss of confidence and mistrust in the domestic intelligence capabilities of the Imperial Internal Security Service [IISS]; an agency in which reports directly to the Emperor Herself. Critics and conspiracy theorist cited how could the IISS report to the Emperor, and not know that their leader is being held captive?

Captain Saskia Landau, IISS Captian, Affiliated Counter-Terrorism [ACT] Co-leader and representative of the Empire within the joint-counter terror unit, quickly addressed the criticisms. Stating, the IISS report breifings are delievered to Her Majesty during Senatorial hearings, all of which she appeared to be good health and spirits. Lastly stating, "However, yet, we were all decieved."

Governor Milo Peck, regional governor of the Emperor's most dominant and populated territory, spoke with NCN Agents at the grounds of New Carthage Captial Plaza:

It is truly egregious to me that this secret was kept for over a year & hidden so well, especially considering how the Senate was able to stay in contact with Her. Not only does this confirm that the NMLA has infested themselves within the highest, most sacred positions of Imperial government, but those in power & in charge of the Emperor's well-being have sympathized and radicalized by NMLA ideology. With the arrest of Senators Alberto Gereon, Karl Nerva, & Ursula Torquatus, we are only seeing the beginning of the NMLA root that has dug itself so deep into our government.

As the Emperor recovers under the watchful eye of the Imperial Palace medical team from the physical effects of repeated cryostasis cycles, the Imperial Senate has gathered on Achenar over the past 4 days on how to move forward. Today, witnessed on public stream-casts of Senatorial debates, a lone Admiral Lucius Lavigny, second cousin to Emperor Arrisa, stormed the senate floor enraged at the lack of urgency and contempt displayed by the Imperial Senate the past week.

Senate security personnel stood awestruck, unknowing how to address the situation, appearing to fear to lay hands on a standing Admiral and one of Duval blood as Senators shouted to at them to maintain decorum. Admiral Lavigny took the podium, with a voice filled of condemnation.

Disgraces, Cowards, Failures ... TRAITORS

That is all I see before me; self-serving so called "Senators", cowardly guards who dare not do their job for fear of there failure being exposed, and traitorous Marlinists hiding as wolves among the sheep that are this Senate. Despite your utter incompetence and miserable lack of action. Our glorious Emperor has returned and with Her the fires of Imperial justice that will cleanse these halls.

Hear me well. For my family's name sake, honor demands retribution. Not just for the Duval name, but for the Empire as a whole. Lavigny's Legion will purge all Imperial territory of these traitors and cowards from the borders of Mazahuanses to Capitol itself. There will no moon, no planet, no system far enough to hide. The fires of our majesty's Imperial justice are coming for you!

After Admiral Lavigny gave his remarks to the Senate, the chamber floor was silent and he departed from the premises. Some Senators after the ordeal expressed concern of the Admiral potentially coordinating a unauthorized strike against Darkwater Inc. in Summerland with his 528th Legion, and other assets of the Imperial Navy. The Praetor Council of the Legion has not been responsive to inquires on whether they will allow the current investigation complete, or strike if given the command.

THE IMPERIAL HAMMER SWINGS ON DARKWATER INC.

By the decree of Emperor Arisa-Lavigny Duval, Darkwater Inc. has been declared a hostile combatant within the domain of Her Majesty's space. The faction is not only responsible for traning and arming NMLA troops who brought terror to the Empire & abroad; but as well for keeping our Great Emperor in incarceration for over the past year, as funded by the Lords of Restoration. The Emperor Herself has appointed Grand Admiral Denton Patreus, who maintains regional control over the territory, to draft strategic attack plans in conjunction with Admiral Lucius Lavigny, who just a few short days ago sent shock waves across Imperial space when making a unannounced visit to a Senatorial debate. Lucius's remarks foreshadowed the intent of the Duval's to deliever retribution, which manifested early today, as Legion's of Imperial Naval vessles emerged from Witch-Space converging on Darkwater Inc. space installations and assets. Ground fighting broke out in a number in-system terrestrial territories where Darkwater troops fruitlessly prepared to withstand the wrath of the Imperial Hammer, as cohorts of Imperial Guardsmen and orbital artillery assaulted positions. Not all prominent Imperials are in support of this methodology to remove Darkwater Inc. from the Imperium. A handful of Senators expressed contempt for such sudden violence within Imperial space, refusing to contribute their fleets; citing, Imperial citizens "have had enough war & blood-shed over the past year. There are a number of legislative procedures at the Emperor's disposal, in which remove operational powers of private entities from within Her domain without conflict". Grand Admiral Denton Patreus, also a Senator, countered these claims quickly, in which he delivered the following rhetoric:

Darkwater forfitted their privilege of mercy a year ago by accepting such a heretical contract. They deserve nothing less than death, and just as I lead the purge of NOVA Imperium, Darkwater shall stand witness to the same ferocity of the Imperial Hammer felt by the NOVA usurpers. It was not you who lived in such impoverished conditions for a year, as you sat indulged in your luxuries.

Darkwater Inc., however, is not alone in their fight. Imperial Intelligence gives evidence to a number of anti-Imperial entities providing naval support; including that of independent commanders. Nonetheless, a swift victory is expected in the coming days.

EMPEROR'S WRATH

The eyes of inhabited space were fixated on Summerland this past week, as the Emperor's Wrath was delt to Darkwater Inc.. The swift, repeated strikes of the Imperial Hammer resulted in massive casualties of Darkwater mercenaries, as the private military attempted to hold as much ground as possible with the aid of anti-Imperial entities fighting along their side. Colonel Ronan Brock, leader of Darkwater Inc, perished during a retreat in the finale phase of the conflict as the LLV Charybdis laid ruin to the Megaship Onyx Storm where Col. Brock had attempted make a last stand.

Admiral Lucius Lavigny gave a short after-action-report breifing exclusively to Praeco Augustus D'Placeo, senior War Corresponder of NCN:

Our organized efforts resulted in Darkwater forces experiencing 73% loss of personnel & assets in the first 3 days of the purge. The reminder were comprised of enclaves scattered throughout Summerland space. The most concentrated of which, took finale stand in & around Onyx Storm Megaship. A Magestic-Class Interdictor was summoned at my command to make quick work of the megaship defenses, which inadvertently caused the Onyx Storm to enter rapid depressurization during fire exchange.

The Battle of Summerland was the largest mobilization of the Imperial Navy since the NOVA Imperium conflict. By Emperor's decree the defeat of Darkwater marks the end of the NMLA war.

Moving forward, many prominent Imperials want to focus on bolstering the Sovereignty of Imperial space. The ever lurking shadow of Federal corruption has attempted to spread its way into a handful of Imperial border systems, via proxy factions bent on initiating a transition of system government. This comes as President Zachary Hudson attempts to find a way to remain the Federation's undisputed dictator, who seeks to ammend his term limit.

Governor Milo Peck expressed his concerns:

What was most haunting to me about the revelation of the Emperor's words & decree being at mercy of a doppelganger during Her absence, is how the chance for a full scale interstellar war with the Federation could've happend. All it could've taken was a breach in a treaty, incursion of territory or fanning of the already stoked flames between us and the Federation to give Hudson what he wants: a cause to sustain his cause.

After a year long investigation spear headed by the the Imperial Slaver Association (ISA), an illegal Imperial slave smuggling operation has been exposed in a network of systems, forming a string leading into Archon Delaine controlled territory. The operation was assisted by intelligence and tactical support by the 528th Legion, ISS agents, & Patreus Sentinels.

The investigation began after an anonymous source alerted the ISA in 3307, with evidence of showing surveillance footage & suspicious trade transactions conducted by Imperial border-security officers & undercover Kumo Crew operatives throughout various installations.

With the recent conflict in Delaine controlled space, many of the Kumo agents have since abandoned terrestrial safe houses containing a number of Imperial Slave cryogenic pods as they answered the call to fight for their degenerate leader. The exact number of liberated Imperial subjects hasn't been revealed at this time; many of which who have been kept beyond their contract.

By decree of Her majesty's Imperial Senate, the sale of Imperial slaves to non-Imperials, and to systems beyond Emporer's domain, is strictly prohibited. Additionally, it is unlawful for Imperial slaves to be kept beyond their term listed in their contract. Svetlana Zhukov, Chairwoman for the ISA, released the following statement:

In a joint effort conducted by the ISA, the ISS, The 528th Legion, Patreus Sentinel Agents, I am delighted to report a number of Imperial border-security agents have been indited on multiple counts of heretical acts of disobedience to Her Majesty's laws. We are considering these Imperials treasonist - having no regard in upholding their Oath and willing commit such deplorable actions while wearing the Imperial Aquila.

Revealed by the seized Imperial security personnel, the overseers and conductors of this operation were comprised of House Artus, an influential Imperial family headquartered in the Cartu system. House Artus, other wise known as Artus World Forge Ltd., the second largest private contributor in the colonization, terraforming and agricultural operations in the Imperial frontier worlds.

The unspecified number of Artus royals have been confirmed to be stripped of all royal titles, privileges and all financial assets seized as the investigation continues by the regional Senator. Their purchasing and transfer of a large number of Imperial slaves has reached into the thousands as the ISA continues to conduct audits on transaction logs kept on a encrypted network of private servers dedicated to the operation.

The ISA has forgiven the debt and minor crimes of the rescued Imperial subjects. Imperial slaves with more notable offenses have been given reduced terms of servitude in their contracts.

News of this revelation has quickly made its way of into Asling Duval's spheres of influence, which emboldened Princess Asling's advocacy to reform the Imperial social system. However, many Imperial traditionalist still defend the social safety net, noting this as a huge victory against those exploiting the system.

"Kumo Crew has always targeted Imperial controlled space, seeking opportunities to exploit the system and smuggle subjects into their space", says Patron Lex Malacass of the Imperial Workers Party. "Many hardworking Imperials have risen to wealthy, honorable status & lifestyles through the social program".

At this time, there are no plans to launch operations into Delaine space to seek & retrieve already smuggled Imperials. However, the Imperial Flight Operations Bureau has issued notices to Imperial commanders venturing into Delaine space to drop off any Kumo Crew marked slave pods to Imperial controlled ports for credit reward.

Today, celebrations across the Imperium commenced, commemorating the seventh anniversary of our magnificent Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval's coronation. Her ascension from senator to the throne ushered in a new era for the Empire, one which not only witnessed the first woman to bear the Crown of Achenar, but an era of plentiful prosperity, expansion and security across Her domain. However, this year was a time of turbulence for Our Emperor, and across the Empire as a whole; which galvanised the Imperial spirit.

From Her majesties' palace on Achenar, the Emperor delivered a short but powerful speech addressed to Her loyal subjects broadcasted to all Imperial receiver devices -- not one focused on Her achievements, but one dedicated to those in service to Her.

"My dear loyal subjects: Seeing the display of Imperial spirit on this day of jubilee fills me with much joy and pride to be of service to you. But it's also a day that conjures thoughts of the path ahead, which bears challenges along with all its opportunities. On this day, I wish not to be the only focus of celebration."

"Remember and celebrate our victorious dead, who in this past year, gave their blood in service to preserve the Imperium of Achenar. For many of which, if not for them, I may not be present to deliver this very speech. May their sacrifice be a testament to those in the likes of Darkwater Inc., Theta 7 and the NMLA who all experienced the righteous fury of the Imperial Hammer for attempting to demolish OUR way of life."

IMPERIAL SENATE DEBATES ETHICS OF HUMAN CLONING - MOTION IN PROGRESS

The Imperial Senate gathered in full mass this morning in Captiol's Senate House on Achenar, as Senators from all over the Imperium brought fourth concerns from their jurisdictions. Senators hailing from Princess Asling Duval power-spheres Initiated most of the debate, with progressive ideals that conjured a slew of reaction from more traditionalist leaning Senators. The most controversial of which was the ethical standards of human cloning within the Empire.

While the Empire has extensively utilized human-cloning for various functions in Imperial society for hundreds of years, some more progressive Imperials have looked at the practice with harsh disgust; viewing it as a practice that must be done away with absolutely -- along with Imperial Slavery. Advocates for its abolishment often cite how cloned Imperial citizens are more heavily restricted in regards to retaining and gaining honor within Imperial society, and often being more likely to be used as expendable assets by the likes of corporations and the Imperial Navy.

Insider reports within the Imperial Navy state that the Emporers' Own, the elite and secretive military unit, is compromised mostly of 'genetically enhanced' clones; However, no confirmation has ever been validated due to the unit rarely being seen in the public light. Nonetheless, legends of their exploits are known within the ranks of the naval personnel.

With the looming shadow of the Thargoid Menace growing larger day by day, traditional Imperial Senators who advocate for preserving the practice suggest funding cloning programs to develope, what they label, "Purge Squads", which would be used to counter Thargoid ground forces, if such a scenario were to occur.
Senator Caspian Leopold, who hails from the Nifhel system, led the advocates in favor speaking on the groups behalf in presenting their Motion to Chancellor Blaine for recognition.

"Chancellor, I have personally witnessed the desolation the Thargoids are capable of during my successful humanitiran campaigns during the Second Thargoid War in 3304. The time to start seriously funding such genetic programs is now, especially since we are more sovereign in our capabilities not having to work along side the other powers in anti-xeno projects, after our Great Emperor's decree. I speak on behalf of the Senators in this chamber house who wish to fund these initiatives, which will not only bolster our anti-xeno capabilities, but make us the primer authority in anti-Thargoid campaigns".

Senator Naomi Kaheen, hailing from the Chona system, speaker of the advocacy group in opposition, delievered their counter-remark and motion.

"What Senator Leopold will not tell you is that his humanitiran force was comprised largely of clones and Imperial slaves, who he treated as disposable human life in the cleaning up of caustic enzyme covered materials -- many of which are left scard and deformed. These so called "Purge Squads" will be no more than disposable human life. Our Navy is perfectly capable of reacting to a Thargoid ground response with the help of reverse engineered Guardian technology, utilized by the likes of EDGE Fleet. Lastly, is it purely the right response to mass produce humans in labs? It is time we get with the times and utilize technology that puts a end to the practice of mass cloning practice".

New Carthage News continues to monitor the potential outcome of these motions. With the Senatorial assembly so divided, it is likely possible the Emperor Herself may make a offical decree in the coming days.
