Join the Cobra MkIV Owners Club!

Do you own the exclusive Cobra Mk IV? This ship is only available for Horizon early adopters (2015). I have created an in-game squadron named 'Cobra Mk IV Owners Club' ID: CMIV if you would care to join. All are welcome but you will remain lowest rank until you physically show a senior member that you actually own the ship!

Since this is a new squadron the purpose is not yet well defined except that we would travel and take part in activities in wings/teams of CMIVs

If you already are part of a different squadron but own the ship and want to be part of a wing just send me a FR in game or post here. Please post pictures and details of your awesome Cobra MK IV here for all to see!

It seems to be harder to find other owners than I thought, but according to the local news board at Shinrarta there are at least 11 mk IV owners actively using their ships.....

I keep mine - the imitation crab meat - at my home dock of Quator, and was using it yesterday to collect some materials.
I love the ship especially for landing on planets and releasing the SRV / going for a walk.

I'm playing in solo currently but I'll send a FR when I'm next in game and back in open.

ID: XLUSIV
Love the clever ship ID and midnight black paint (also exclusive to horizon pre-order I think?). Now with the new 2-person SRV and walking around might (odyssey) make for a fun planet-side meetup. I am thinking of organizing one for the Jameson crash site once we've got enough interest.

All this mk IV makes me want to get one again. I think I flew it a couple of times, but could it be a good mat collector?
I use mine regularly to visit the Jameson crash site and Dav’s hope for materials (with srv bay installed), as has been noted by many before it makes an excellent planetary lander.

The Mk. IV Mafia. I have almost never seen another player in one. Almost always NPC. Apparently they are pretty good for Odyssey content in the shuttle and ground attack roles.
I might buy one again.

Oh, and in b4 someone starts up the "Fdev should let us buy them now despite being a preorder/early adopter bonus". (Personally don't care if they sell them again but some players like the exclusivity for some reason.)

I'm not in the bubble currently (should be back next week sometime) but I'd be happy to team up when occasion permits.
I’m also out there now for a while, hunting Raxxla currently. There is not much going on with CMIV right now but any owners (or wannabe owners) are welcome to join the squadron if they’d just like to be part of the group and for a future meetup maybe this summer/fall.

This adopting or whatever its name investment should be available always.
That is, any player now can go to frontier store, leave their real money there and receive ability to buy the ship in the game.
I think that should be fair.
Everyone wins, the problem solved.

I have a Cobra Mk.IV, probably my favourite ship to fly (along with the Asp Exp.). I mostly use it for mining and just jollying around. I'm currently out in the void at the moment in my Anaconda so my Mk.IV is docked in Pikum. I'm probably going to be stuck out here for a good few weeks, but it would be good to meet up with some fellow Mk.IV owners at some point.

I don't own one, I'd like an LEP and I'd like a Mk IV but in all honesty I respect and admire FDEV for sticking to the original script that it's an early adopter bonus.

As an owner I used to feel it should remain exclusive, but I have softened on this lately for a couple of reasons;

1. It doesn't really make much sense that there is an unobtainable ship that only certain people can buy as many as they want. There is an unlimited supply of a ship that few can buy? That is just strange. It should be limited supply even for us who can buy them. Kind of like rare goods are but not on a per commander basis, maybe only certain stations should stock a few CMIV at a time and it takes a server tick to generate the next batch.

2. Others can have the CMIV and exclusivity could be maintained by allowing me to sell my ship to other players... they just need to implement a player to player ship marketplace :) I would happily become a customized CMIV supplier. Furthermore I think a P2P ship marketplace would be a great new interesting feature of the game in general for all ships. It has never made alot of sense that if I sell my fully engineering ship that all those modules just disappear? Were do they go? The ship should remain engineered and available at the station I sold it to some lucky purchaser (at a much higher price of course)

Whilst a second hand market for ships etc is something I'd get behind (but would also need some sort of wear and tear mechanic which wasn't that popular in elite 2) they can take my cobra 4 from my cold dead hands.
