Newcomer / Intro Journal file settings and / or redirect

Are there any settings in ED that let me customize what's recorded in my journal log files? For example, I have system chat hidden in-game, yet my journal is still recording system chats, which is a FLOOD of pretty terrible rubbish here in Borann. I have zero need to record this garbage and thus I would REALLY like to turn it off completely. If the answer is yes, how?

And regardless of the answer, is there a way to "pipe" the journal log data to another program instead of a file, like a UNIX pipe? I'd like this both for monitoring live events (like when a CMDR joins my instance), but I could also write my own filters if the answer to my previous question is "no". Worst-case-scenario, can I change where the journal file is saved? I can store it on a small RAM disk if I need to and parse it from there and save the filtered copy to my SSD.

As far as I know the content of the journal (and the ancillary json files) is not able to be changed by the user.

I suppose a program could be written to post-process completed log files and remove specific events.

Several third party PC apps are available that can display data as it is published in the journal / ancillary json files.

Yep, this is my Plan B. I still don't like the constant writing to my journal file that this waterfall of system chat is causing. I know modern OS have mechanism to reduce SSD wear, but still, an unnecessary write is an unnecessary write, and the rubbish (Borann system chat is a cesspool) being recorded on my drive is just awful.
