"Journey of the MadRaptor" - A Galactic Tour

Welcome to the......
Expedition Patch.png
Hello CMDRS!

It's been two years and many missed opportunities and tough internal battles but the explorer itch has finally taken over me. I'm putting my PROJECT LGANS on hold, to satisfy this urge to explore this galaxy we have before us, and also in part because in order to do that project properly I'm going to need much better tools. It is still open for anybody who wants to participate, just follow the link and follow the guidelines. As for myself, however, I'm heading into the unknown. I've started At Barnard's, heading upwards and towards the outer arm, at which time I'll spiral my way along the arms into the core, on towards Colonia and then from there a sort of forward hook back into the bubble. I'm hoping to come away with some great pictures, videos and memories.

Of course, I will keep this thread as a journal of my journey so please enjoy. Of course, you will also find all my volcanic and organic sites cataloged HERE. Feel free to share your stories and images if you want to as well. I'm excited at the fact that after this journey I'll finally have made it to that ELITE Exploration rank I've been chasing since release as well as the possibility of finding new organics and all sorts of amazing volcanic sites.

Thank You and hopefully when I return the bubble isn't too badly destroyed ;)

Day 1 - Getting away from bubble

I begin my journey, heading towards Barnard's Loop, passing a beautiful Water World in the Process

A few systems later and I'm greeted by this lovely ringed beauty

A few bodies down and another world wants to say hello

Breaking away from Barnard's I begin my Journey upwards, heading above the Galactic Plane as I prepare to cut across and drop into the Cone Nebula.
As I make my way upwards I'm greeted by a happy looking system ripe for exploration.

Landfall and a Volcanic body none the less, a few moments of searching and I'm rewarded kindly

Collecting Crystals

To Be Continued......

(pictures on the way, have a slower connection now and forget it takes some time upload Hi-Res)

Made my way past Thor's Helmet and stopped in a system full of suns but this was my favorite:

Another shot from further out:

A nice little water world (Just imagine Kevin Costner living the life)

This was a nice crater to get lost in for a moment:

A nice little giant to end the post on:

I'm now buried in the Seagull nebula looking for volcanism and perhaps organics....then off to the outer arm's edge. Got to stop being dumb though. Yesterday saw me being absent minded and losing 11 Percent Hull. Trip has just begun so, yeah, no more screwing around until I'm close to a repair station. I'll be spiraling my way to the core so that should bring me to a station at some point in my journey.
