In one of the big step for planetary evolvement, one forum commander laid out their idea that Jovian atmospheric planets would be next.

It allows for development of clouds and weather but doesn't require to be too stringent with gritty real-world details of rain/wind/ snow and planetary erosion. It's just rendering clouds, and sort out the flight models.
So naturally visions of clouds and daylight on my cockpit dashboard are filling my imagination.
Would there be platforms to land on?
Bases with light weight gas containers as ballasts and some of those skimmer engines for support?
With floating layers of super dense clouds maybe it's not far fetched to have a mash-up between the shield aircraft Carrier from the avengers and cloud city from Star Wars.
And how would the ships perform. Rounded hulls should be able to go deeper. Winged ships better control. So the imperials can dive for safety but the federal ships have superiority in the upper atmosphere. Unless you are an FDL or Adder.
