It would be very helpful to have a joystick/controller "test mode", where a UI pops-up which function(s) are being called with each button press/movement.
Sort of like a reverse of the initial set-up routine, and would be very helpful if you switch controllers and are trying to figure out what/where the new buttons are!
I'd see it looking like the Windows Control Panel game controller config/test tab, but with added data for the mappings when buttons are activated (but keep the button numbers, those are good to know!)
A colour-code would be helpful where any given button is mapped to multiple functions.
P.S. It would still be very useful to have multiple HID devices marked as such in the controls list. Currently you get two "Button 1", etc. declarations, and you're never sure which controller is designated.
