I switched to a Siatek av8r joystick and it has a significant dead zone in the roll axis. Iv set it up in the game controller menu on windows and the dead zone isn't present there. It's also not present in my other games. Any idea how to fix this?

Are you sure you bound the joystick to control axes rather than the binary options? If you do the latter, it'll be on/off in each direction, creating massive deadzones. Just go to controls and make sure you set yaw to 'yaw axis' etc.
I bet that's what happened, it does feel better on/off. I'll check it. Thanks!
