I have an x52 pro HOTAS and can play for a few minutes without any issues but it soon starts this issue. Also, I used to have the same issue with an older Logitech x30 joystick without HOTAS, this was a much cheaper joystick with throttle slider on the joystick base itself. The issue seems to only be a problem on ED. No issues in Xplane 10 or 11.
The issue is most noticeable with pitch, roll, and yaw inputs on my joystick. It's worth noting that I am playing in VR (but the problem has occurred prior to VR usage) so with VR I can always see my character's (in game) joystick in relation to my actual movements on the x52. The stuttering I am referring to is observable both visually (seeing the in-game joystick) and physically (if actually effects the control of the ship)Example, I can be pitching forward (hard or light) and the in-game joystick is jumping back from center and back to the matching position it should visually be at. This "jumping" is lighting fast, hence the word "stutter". It seems to be an interruption in the transmission of input. It comes and goes. If I unplug the usb connection, wait 5 seconds, then plug it in again, the problem stops for a while or at least improves a bit so that it doesn't do it so much for a while. Then after a few minutes, it returns full blown again. USB cable has been checked as well as PS2 connections between HOTAS and stick. Other ports on the computer have also been tried.
It's not just limited to ship maneuvering. When I bring up any of my ship panels, my inputs to scroll through different locations on the nav panel are interrupted so much and so fast, (lighting fast) that often one physical click down will translate into two clicks. So in other words, it's such a fast jittery interrupt that it ends up registering 2 or 3 clicks down. Literally every button I could press on the joystick behaves that way. Doesn't matter if I'm clicking over from navigation tab to transactions. Again, if I unplug usb, plug it back in, the problem disappears or improves for a while. Anyone else have this issue? I mentioned earlier that I can detect a physical effect to ship maneuvering, (not just the VR stick jumping or stuttering) this really just translates into slightly slower pitching, rolling, and yaw. So If I'm in combat and pulling back "full" to turn around on someone to gain firing position, it's stuttering the whole time so all of that stuttering just gives me a slower turnaround.
Anyone else have this issue? advice?
