Newcomer / Intro Joystick just spins to left

Plugged in my Logitech Extreme3DPro and have generic joystick picked but when I go in game all my vehicle does is spins quickly to the left continuously.

What am I doing wrong???

Thanks

Appreciate the quick reply.....

Adjusting all the deadzones to the middle did not stop the spinning to the left.

Strange thing is I had this problem once before and I figured it out with either turning on auto assist or changing the deadzones but now it started up again and I can't figure out what I hit to change it.

Tried windows recalibrate and still having same problem.

This is very frustrating. I note that when I attempt to throttle forward it does not accept that command either. Figured even though I am spinning to left wildly it would still accept the throttle forward command.

Still stumped here

Use this to test all of your movement axes and buttons and let us know what your left twist is reading when untouched and when you move it: http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/doodles/gamepad/gamepad-tester/tester.html

Also yes I know the image is of a gamepad but all that matters is that it'll test all or nearly all of your movement and buttons.

Oh, and one other thing I can think of: Perhaps your yaw left function got accidentally assigned to your joystick's throttle control? The only reason I suggest this is I know most people usually keep their throttle control, especially if not using it, at one extreme. My Logitech Attack3's throttle is always at the lowest resting position because I don't use it, which is not 0 throttle but instead full reverse. If yaw somehow got attached to that throttle, then one extreme could be "yaw left" whereas the other would be "yaw right". In fact, if you don't use that throttle in-game, try adjusting the throttle and see if that changes yaw.

No idea what could but happening, but my suggestion is to make a custom setup (make sure you bind the joystick inputs to the axes, not to the single input fields that are intended for buttons/keys) ... at least that way you'll know the game has detected the actual axes you wish to use.

In the Windows game controller advanced settings when you're calibrating the stick, do the axes all settle to the centre when you're not touching the stick?

I had a Wireless Freedom 2.4GHz Logitech stick; the same happened to it. It wasn't possible to fix it easily as one of the potentiometers had died.

Is it USB?
Try unplugging the ports and all the accompanying parts (if it's a hotas like setup) then restart PC. Reassemble the device and plug back into the same port. If it doesn't work again try a different port.

This happened to me plenty of times in DCS:10c. I'd just pull my joy a little too hard and the cable would come out, and it would register the last motion/vector my joy was making as a continual loop when i reconnected the device.

I might have solved it but have no idea what key I hit to cause the problem.

Even though all the bindings were in their proper field locations they were not active. I went in and reassigned pitch, roll and awe and tested and the spinning stopped and were working again.
Now I guess I have to go in and re-assign all the joystick settings.

Anyone know what could have stripped them dead but left their names still in their proper field locations in the joystick options?

This is probably nothing to do with this problem, but when I find the view moving around with no apparent input, it's normally the mouse cursor position that is causing it. If I centralise the mouse cursor, normality is resumed.

i have this stick and have the same problem all the time .... it needs calibrating.. You need to open your Logitech Gaming Software...came with the stick or you can download it... at the top click device then game controllers...next box (important part) hold dowm shift and ctrl then click properties.... next box click test ..then test the stick(if you dont do this it wont calibrate properly) next click calibrate and follow what it says....
I do this everytime ...sometimes need to do it 2 or 3 times....GL...

I don't know if this is still the case, but it used to be that you have to ensure that mouse control settings are not enabled when you are using another controller. If you had them on and your mouse was nudged accidentally it would cause you to spin or drift in that direction.
