Hardware & Technical Joystick recommendations Thrustmaster T16000 versus VKB Gladiator

Yeah, this is true, compared to the T16000M it is a much lighter touch. ..............

There is the dedicated adjustment software for the Cobra, probably better to use that for calibration, ................

Now, there is also a software package for VKB,............

You can get these packages from here, check on the right side panel, marked under "featured downloads".

Thanks for your input again. I had already downloaded all three different "configurator" files (since I didn't know which version would be supplied) and tried the correct one (serial numbers list determined) after I had issues in windoze game controller calibration (wouldn't accept button press to advance the screens, although buttons registered OK in different screen - probably because there was always one button press active from the mode switch). However I could not get it to be less sensitive in axes response, no doubt I could have found another program to modify response curves but to be honest I was just so fed up mucking about with it.

In the end I have given up on it and the UK office of the suppliers have agreed to have it picked up and issue a refund. Trying to do it online with the Czech website was a nightmare - thankfully email support have been really helpful, so I think Alza.co.uk is due a thumbs-up from me {when I see my refund of course!}.

Thanks again for trying to help, I hope you enjoy your Gunfighter when it comes along. (Time to get used to the CH Pro Pedals again for me.)

P.S. Apologies to the OP for the partial hijack of the thread.

I finally bought the T16000 from Trustmaster and tried it out for over a couple of weeks now. Must say that I'm very satisfied with how it performs. It is indeed a very accurate stick (much more than my old attack 3) and centers very nicely. I really hardly do not have to put in deadzones, as the stick seems to "deactivate" itself once you leave it alone and centers. The buttons on the top of the stick are nice and I really like the cap as it allows you do have effectively 4 buttons in one. However, Trustmaster could have done with some additional buttons on the stick itself as the buttons to the base of the platform are hardly usable. Maybe if you would solely play with joystick and use two hands it might work, but for ED where you likely use it with your right or left hand only and have the other on a throttle or keyboard the buttons are not really easily reachable, especially not the ones to the far right (if you use the stick right handed). You would have to move with your other hand to that side or temporary use the stick with your left hand to allow your right hand to press these buttons.

However, besides the button placements and its issues, the stick itself is a very nice sturdy joystick that is accurate. If you use a keyboard or another device to bind your keys on (or voice attack) and only want a very good stick for flying, then it is a very good deal considering the performance and pricing.
