Hardware & Technical Joysticks.... Argggg

I just broke my 2nd joystick....:eek:

what is stronger than an x52 pro?:mad::mad::mad:

I think if i can't fix this one that will be me back playing Eve, I can't afford new joy sticks every few months.

there is a thin aluminium disk under the clear plastic base and it just crumpled while docking its now all mangled and twisted and the stick wont move.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

My dad said I should put an ed-tracker on a toilet plunger and use that.

Ch Products for the win. Even though they seem like they're made from cheap plastic these things are built like a tank. I bought a fighter stick, pro throttle and pedals several months ago and love them. One of my friends has had his combat stick for about 15 years and hasn't had any issues with it, he's the one that turned me on to them.

I have to second this, really happy with their stuff; I have the same setup as yours. Super solid and very functional, lots of good button placement. They make controllers for industry too. Only thing someone'd miss from the X-series besides the bling would be the stick twist, CH doesn't make a twister.

OK, this morning I have dismantled the joystick. Ripped out the crumpled and twisted aluminium foil disc, which appears to be 90% cosmetic.

The stick now seems to work just as well as it did before, panic over.

There seems to be a little less resistance to movement, so at the moment it actually feels better than before.

Yeah I often wondered about that. For me the disk created that flat spot of resistance in the center which seems to hamper transitions over the center. I imagine that without it you might have more precise aim when following a target that is jiggling around in your sights.

I haven't tried to remove it yet, but have been frustrated by that stiff center which makes games like war thunder with a lot of wobble really hard to aim with.

I have a non pro x52 and noticed there is some play in the joystick in the base too :(. I removed it where the handle joins the shaft at the top with superglue.

I suspect the disk is mostly there to keep dirt out. A rubber or leather boot like you get on a car shift stick could probably take it's place.
