JP , JW Dino Leg Brands

Hi everyone new to the forum and love what I see!

So as the title goes what do you guys think about having the old school cattle brands for dinos? Growing up as a kid all of the toys had the JP logo on their hind legs so it would be super cool to do the same in game. Maybe have the JW and any other variants I am not aware of as well. Not sure if the image URL is working for me but there is supposed to be a pic of a dilophasuar toy with the leg brand for an example.

I can't imagine this being in the game, but it's not that bad of an idea, guys. It's nostalgic. For those of us who grew up playing with JP toys as kids, these video games are filling that void now. I still have every JP toy from the original collection including the visitors center. If I want nostalgia I'd go play with them.

Kinda disappointed in how I see people replying in this forum. JurASSaTHICC didn't present an amazing idea but wasn't rude about it in the slightest. Most of you that are replying however, are coming off as being rude. Again, leg brands aren't a good idea but you don't need to be rude when saying that they aren't. Everywhere else on these forums has had only good experiences in the threads I've read so I was a bit caught off guard when I saw how people were replying on this thread. Maybe you weren't trying to come off as being mean or rude but please try to think about your word choice and sentence structure in the future. If you were trying to come off as rude, shame on you.

I assure you, whatever I say, is never meant to being rude, I just say what I really think.
This game has some of the most realistic looking dinosaurs and putting a logo on them isn't what I would want to see.

Good grief. I was only trying to be nice. Not to offend anyone, but honestly, some of you wanna-be moderators speak with such authority and judgement, it really starts to suck the fun out of these discussions.

Anyway, his idea was fine. Unlikely, but fine, and even if it came to pass, I'm sure it would be optional.

My thread wasn't meant to say that anyone was trying to be rude, merely to suggest we should be a bit kinder to newer people on the threads so that we don't scare anyone away from the forums.
when I started out on these forums none of my ideas were amazing and maybe unreasonable but others told me that in a kind manner. Maybe after saying this people are still going to be critical of my last post, but these are public forums so say whatever you feel like.

I kind of like the idea. In TLW novel the Dinosaur that washed up on the beach had a tattoo/ID number as well as a tag on it. Of course it would have to be optional. Also those leg brands have a lot of nostalgia with me. Playing this game will essentially be like playing with a better version of the old JP compound I had as a kid. It's like we are getting a bunch of virtual realistic looking JP toys. We even get some Jeeps and Helicopters.


It would be more like a novel thing I would turn it off eventually. But it would be hilarious to see my second Brachiosaurus say JW02 on it's leg. But that's why we won't get it cause it's over all just a useless novelty and I would rather have Frontier focus on things that will have a meaningful impact on the game.

Frontier should release a skin pack DLC based on the toys. Then the brands would make total sense.

Just don't bother with the dino damage; I always lost the cover pieces so my dinosaurs were permanently wounded.

I never lost mine. When I gave them away they had all the pieces.

I love extra features, they could add tons to this game and I buy it all, I just don't want something like this and if it would be added I will never use it.

We want features, and lots of them. We just don't want features that literally have no real point or reason in the game. I think I can safely say as a veteran of this board that we want frontier to spend their time in money on things that will actually improve the game.

Brands would probably be something I'd play around with if they were in game. It would be an extra layer of customization on top of skin colors and potentially an easier way to tell individuals apart without checking their names. I think I would want more options than just the old toy markings though.
