this whole thing has been dragged out for years because JA has refused to cooperate. if he'd gone to Sweden to be questioned, the matter might have ended there with no charges.

But at the same time Sweden refused to question him inside the Embassy, as was offered. So apparently, questioning him wasn't so much the point as getting him to sweden.
