July Dwarf Fortress Update

It's been released today. Not sure I see any difference to the last version yet. As always not sure what the heck I'm doing :p

Am playing Fortress Mode now. I expect a lot of the differences are deep and subtle and obscure and FUN.
One difference I can see straight away is the trees. They are Awesome!
Just embark on a wooded area and check out how they grow from a trunk to a canopy. These guys are seriously into procedurally generating a world...
:)

Edit: As usual the first major release for a while is a bit unstable. Also definitly more laggy than the previous release.
Cue the furious round of bug-fixes...

Woah, will have a hard time to decide which game to waste my time on :D

I still have to try out the Cycling magmatic siege killer and somehow I believe this will take a fortress or two ( or even ten :p ) of burning dwarves until it works....

I am definitely enjoying bughunting more in Dwarf Fortress than in E:D at the moment. This has been timed just right to coincide with a lull in bugfix updates in E:D.
Also, Dwarf fortress has always had really amusing bugs.

Currently amused by:

[Dwarf Fortress] Carpenter climbs multi-block trees to die
Dwarf Mode -- Idle Behavior - 2014-07-10 13:12

and...

[Dwarf Fortress] People do not react when you light fires underneath them.
Adventure Mode -- AI - 2014-07-10 13:57

:D

I imagine when I get back from my holidays in August and have a good internet connection again then E:D will take over my life
