Newcomer / Intro Jump Calculations Based on Fuel

I was wondering why mass lost due to fuel used isn't taken into account when plotting a course.

I find myself having to recalculate my route because the fuel I've used in each jump makes me lighter. By doing this I have to stop less.

Am I doing or interpreting something wrong here?

You are over thinking it, or micro managing irrelevant detail. Just plot you course and go, refuel how/when you see fit, no need to replot any routes.

Personally I plot routes when I have a full tank, and scoop to top off my tank at every scoopable star. Sure, one can squeeze and extra ly or so out of a half-empty, but it never struck me as worth the extra effort. But, this is a matter of personal play style, so if it works for you, go for it.

it's a bit of a faff about.... calculating with half a tank and just filling to half full yadda yadda

I do as you do and just keep re-checking the route after a fuel scoop to top off

with the coming of being able to buy extra fuel tanks it's going to be a old story soon

Any explorer who is so dedicated to jump range as to keep fuel to half a tank is not going to be installing extra fuel tanks in their exploration ships. That's more weight, and more weight means less range.

Absolutely. My ASP is fine with a 32 ton tank. My Vulture on the other hand, well, it seems like it can only hold a few liters, so an extra tank for that is going to be nice.
