Jump delay

This happens about 70% of the time. Hope it can be fixed. The longest time was about 25 seconds.

What's going on with the rest of your screen? Why did you just show the center and no other info? It also looks like your direction of travel isn't aligned with your jump vector.

Your ship is traveling in a different direction to the direction it's facing. You can tell by the stars moving across the screen. Are you flying a cutter/t9/t10/vette/some other heavy ?

For jump to initiate, you must be
  • at 75% throttle
  • facing the direction of the jump; and
  • traveling in the direction of the jump.

Momentum of larger ships means it can take a long time to be moving in the direction you're facing. The warning message displayed in the area you've cut from the video will say words to the effect that you aren't satisfying the 3rd requirement.

Based on the video, your momentum seems to be carrying you down and to the right, rather than straight ahead.

First attempt at cropping a video. Sorry about that.
Alignment? Yes. Maybe sometimes not EXACTLY aligned, but most times I am. And jumping 20 or 30 times in a session, and 70% are doing this. Yes a cutter, mostly, as I trade. But also with the Aspx Python and Corvette.
Am I the only one with this problem?

Alignment isn't the problem, your direction of travel is.

In that clip your ship isn't moving towards the target, it's moving almost 90 degrees perpendicular to it, based on the star movement, so you won't jump.

I'll record you a video later...

OK, so here's the video I promised. Sequence of events:
- I spool up the FSD while not aligned to the target. This displays the "Align with Destination" message, which means my ship isn't pointing to the destination.

- I then boost in that off-direction, and turn towards the target. When I'm aligned, this triggers the "Align with ship trajectory" message.

- This is a warning that your ship is travelling in a different direction to the direction your facing. That's because for most medium-large ships, inertia carries you in your original direction of travel, and your thrusters can take a considerable amount of time to readjust to your new trajectory. For ships like the T9/10, Cutter and Corvette, unless you boost (Like @Cmdr Nemo LXXI suggested) in the direction you're trying to go.

- Lastly, once my trajectory corrects, I enter hyperspace.

Essentially, your ship is doing the space equivalent of this:
7EF817394DBC70F0DA85FE375C9D841D0D14B0DF

... i.e travelling in a different direction to what it's pointing. For supercruise/hyperspace to engage, you need to be moving in the same direction you're facing.

I can tell that's what's occurring in your video, because of this graphical effect moving across your video.

Note it's the same as this effect, taken from my own video:

Hmm. I think you are right. Saying that the other ships do it is probably an um error on my part.
I must research your directions, and thanks for the input.
