jump in FPS, will optimisation fix this?

Hey, thanks for ready my issue,

Ever since the planet coaster alpha release i have had the same problem. My game runs smoothly at times (45/50fps) then drops to under 10fps for a short period of time before returning to 45/50fps. If this was just the odd occasion i could deal with it, but unfortunately it seems to be happening every 10/15 seconds. its driving me mad, and making the game near impossible to enjoy, which is such a same as i LOVE the game!

Any ideas on cause? do you think it may be fixed through optimisation?

Thanks[up]

What are you Computer specs? CPU and GPU.

If there is a problem with the problem please don't forget to post them. :)

How much space did you already filled up your area? Which setup do you use? (high to low)

What settings are you using and how large is the park size your making? The game is still in-the-making so yes, optimizations and FPS should improve, but also realize that with the addition of more features in the full game, you may require even higher Computer specs

[I don't know your skill level, so please ignore this if you've already explored this area]

Don't rule out the obvious: some process on your PC may be waking up and running every 10/15 seconds. For example, Norton often runs background tasks when it thinks you aren't looking. Windows indexer does this kind of thing, too. Lots of apps phone home, though usually not that frequently.

If you're comfortable with it, bring up the task manager and kill off any non-essential processes one-by-one, while monitoring the problem. You could also bring up Resource Monitor (from a button on the performance tab in the task manager) and see if anything is coinciding with the fps slowdown. (note there is a slight delay in the monitor's reporting.) You might want to bring up the Resource Monitor anyway - lots of very interesting information here; it's amazing how many apps and processes are using your network connection, for example.

Back to your other question: there certainly will be performance improvements in the final release - and they'll be turning off most of the internal debug code, too, I imagine.

i am currently using the current window's 10 insider preview build 14372, when i upgraded to the latest build my fps went up,i have about 10 coasters and alot of building's and about 3,000 guests in my park,i wouldn't suggest using windows insider builds unless you like testing windows beta software, but windows 10 redstone due to be released next month looks promising for planet coaster, my current specs are underneath.[yesnod]

I was going to suggest the autosave feature, which happens every 15 minutes. The FPS drops while the game writes out the save file.

I wonder if there is config that changes the autosave interval, and if you have been playing with it?
