Jump to the closest system macro?

Just had a random thought that it would be nice to have a quick jump to the closest system macro because microseconds matter when you're being attacked and don't want to stay and fight.

I know all the other rules like pips to shields and all that, so I don't want this thread to digress into a discussion on how to fight or how to avoid dieing.

I'm just simply interested if any third party has made a tool or if there is an in game feature to make jumping to the closest system virtually immediate even when the closest system is not selected.

Is this by chance somthing that Voice Attack can do?

Not sure, and wouldn't advocate a third party solution regardless, but plotting routes through one's true destination, or plotting a new route immediately upon arrival and using the target next waypoint hotkey should be standard practice if one is expecting trouble...also allows jumps that aren't quite as predictable.

Isn't that called economical route?
I you were trying to communicate something to me, you failed.

Good ideas. I assume you mean the "Target next system in route" key bind.

This ^^^
Any other solution involves d1cking about in the menus which is slower even with VA

Suggestion: Panic jump function.

Acts like a normal FSD jump, but jumps you to a random distance in the direction you were facing... including in excess of normal jump range, complete with appropriate fuel usage, up to 100% of your current fuel supply. If the jump exceeds your normal jump range, causes damage (30% Or more) to your FSD.

As the name suggests.. it's a panic jump... if you don't do it, you're dead anyway, so the risk of losing so much fuel you can't jump back to an actual system is a chance you'll take. Could also be used to try and bridge gaps your ship couldn't normally, but obviously very high risk.

Actually.... no.

What would be really awesome is if, like any other celestial bodies, the "nearby systems " which appear in your contact list should actually appear as selectable "poi" around you, and you can just jump straight to that, rather than select through the nav panel.

We should be able to plot way points on both galaxy and system maps. I can do it on my phone in 2020 but not in a ship nav computer in 3306. Stupid..

You'd probably need to make the macro yourself. I think a couple allow for recording, just like in excel. Only bothered once with macro stuff for some unlocks in CoH.

Then you would have to allow for blocked systems if you are close to a star or planet, so you would need to have it set up so if the jump failed it would target the next closest etc.

This is my SOP when I reach my destination and its a hotspot (or not) its just a habit for me. I would like a macro to automate the exercise of setting the next system, but I gave up on that. The next best thing is, while one jump away from the hotspot, I'll try to plot a new course where I have one more jump beyond my real destination. That doesn't always work.

This. If I have the time I make sure to either use the galmap to select a "random" system or use the left-hand menu to jump to the next-closest system.
Veteran gankers know people often follow Rinzlers Guide, so some of them have the closest system marked, for a chance pursuit.

I prefer to jump to the farthest system. The farther away the better. First of all it is easier to select, just click all the way up on the nav page and when it flips over you're on the very bottom of the list, which is the farthest system. Besides, if your ship has decent jump range it is possible that those attack ships wouldn't be able to jump as far as you, and you will not be followed.
