Thank you for posting this Kristov:
"Ok, so I never got into Jumpgate, and I can't find out much about it, other than someone in Russia is running a server for Jumpgate TRI with all of 2900 players on it(how many are unique is rather questionable since many of the players there multibox according to the forums for it), oh, that's free btw, so if you love that game so much and think it was so much better than Elite Dangerous, go have some fun man, enjoy yourself in a game you consider better, instead of being unhappy in a game you don't like.
So, how many players could you have in a single area at once in Jumpgate? I can't find that information anywhere, so I've got no idea how many players it supported. 2001, DX8, graphics were considered crap at release(according to the reviews), still dialup days for many, WoW wasn't around yet, MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER at that time was anything over 8 players together, so, how many did it allow to fight together at once?
As for how great the game was, well, you loved it, so what? It didn't win any awards, didn't break any records, and didn't even get noticed by many space game lovers, like myself, so I'm guessing it wasn't as awesome to the majority as it was to you. You love it, great for you, Jumpgate TRI, free to play, have fun man."
I didnt know JG is online again since 2 years, and the server is full of old known players. So the game seems not so bad if ppl play it over 15 years.
To awnser your question how many players are possible in 1 sector, i remember about 50-100.
But you can check now yourselfe. And maybe the ED staff can catch some ideas.
