Jumponium - how do I use it?

Hi all, quick question - I have 6 +25 jump range upgrades available in my synthesis tab, I'd like to move a bit faster to get "home", how do I use the synthesised jumponium once I've synthesised it and applied it? Do I have to reset my target star destination, or will the route plotter take account of it automatically? If that's the case, will my first jump be +25% longer than the rest?

Also, is there any benefit to using all 6 upgrades now, or is it a case of using just one at a time? FYI I've tried it once but couldn't see any difference in jump range to the next star, even though the FSD boost box was ticked and the +25 slider was correct.

Jumponium is not meant to be used for making your travel faster. You need to plot one jump at a time and the route plotter cannot take it into account. Jumponium boosts are meant to be used in sparse areas where the star density is low and the distances between systems are higher than your normal jump range. Typically, you first find where you want to jump and apply the appropriate jumponium boost. You can still plot to that system in most cases but it's just one jump you cannot plot more than one.

If you want to go back home faster, then I recommend what people call 'jonking', i.e. arrive, ADS scan while scooping, align with the next target, initiate jump, check the system map for shinies, if none push the throttle to the max and jump. Rinse and repeat.

I probably phrased my initial question badly - I meant "faster" as in "cover more ground and thus make less jumps". But thanks for explaining how it works. I'll give it a go and see if it makes sense when actually exploring out in the black.

Re. jonking - I'm already doing this, I just didn't know it had a name (although probably should have guessed), it's still going to take bloody ages to get back though because I keep getting distracted by shiny things...

You'll make less jumps using jumponium but timewise you'll be a lot slower. But as Aura says you have to plot each jump manually.
