Seems to be something to do with resolution. The screenshot linked was taken playing 1080px with SMAA on. I changed resolution to 1080px x1.25 no AA and it seems to work now.
Update: It's back even at the larger resolution. It seems to ocurr only when jump required is one.
IIRC if required jump is one it doesn't tell you "1" but "next", which is indeed misaligned in your picture. I am currently updating and will check if it's the same on my end.
That's just it displaying 'Next' - the actual jump count seems ok.
Get your MkII Eyeball upgraded. First ship was an Eagle, second screenshot was a Krait Phantom.
It should display a number. In this case, 1. Can't you see the mis-aligned text? It's cut off!
Nope - it ALWAYS just displayed next if there's one jump. Chill out.
I did say Phantom, your quotes seem to be broken as well. Could be a client issue then.

Thanks. At last someone who bothers to check/confirm and look at the pictures...
I can confirm, multiple jumps are displayed just fine but "next" for the last jumped isn't aligned correctly.
