Hi Everyone
I'm fairly new to posting on the forum but have been playing Elite for a while; if you count the original version, then a very long while !!
I wondered if anybody else thought that it might be a good idea if the "x Jumps to Go" message in the Navigation Panel was to change colour to Red when you have insufficient fuel to complete the Nav route you have planned. After a few refuels en-route, you are most likely going to then have enough and I'd suggest that the colour changes to what it currently is (or another - maybe Green) to give a quick indication that you can now complete the route without needing further refuels - that is unless you need/want to save money buying it at the next station.
I know you can find out if you have enough fuel to finish the route by accessing the Galaxy Map, but in flight this takes you away from the main screen and won't prevent someone trying to inderdict you. Has happened to me once. Additionally, unless you zero the throttle, your ship will just carry on whilst you are looking at the map.
I just feel that being able to quickly see on the UI panel that I have enough fuel to complete my route will save me some time on long haul journeys.
Any thoughts??
