Welcome back, Park Managers!

We almost can't believe it's the end of July already, time sure has flown by quickly this past month. We're back with another Monthly Round-up of all the incredible news and announcements about Jurassic World Evolution 2 from July to ensure you're all up to date on the latest from us here at Frontier.

Here is your round-up of what July had to offer!

News:

July's first Species Field Guide was all about the swift and agile Coelophysis. This Triassic dinosaur is a new entry to the roster in Jurassic World Evolution 2, and we're incredibly excited to have it be a part of the game. If you missed the Species Field Guide you can check it out below. You may even see some brand new dinosaur behaviours!

A familiar dinosaur also made an appearance during the past month. July's second Species Field Guide focused on the Stegosaurus. This Jurassic World staple is a highly social dinosaur that prefers the company of its own kind. Don't get it riled up or it will use its powerful thagomizer to do some serious damage to other dinosaurs, or your to your park fences. As the Species Field Guide shows, however, they can also be very adorable:

July also saw the release of the very first Jurassic World Evolution 2 Dev Diary, which breaks down the key features and mechanics of Jurassic World Evolution 2. There's also plenty of new in-game footage to see, if you haven't checked it out yet!

Have you also been keeping up with our Feature Focuses? We published a brand new one in July focusing on Challenge Mode and Sandbox Mode. Challenge Mode is where you put your park management skills to the ultimate test, and Sandbox Mode is where you can build your dream park. Read more about it on our forums:

Scientists are a new mechanic coming to Jurassic World Evolution 2. You assign them to various tasks around your park so they can keep things running in tip top shape. Learn more about how they work in the first Park Management Guide:

Finally, we streamed another Monthly Highlight stream on Twitch and YouTube on the last Friday of July. We do these on the last Friday every month to recap and discuss what we've announced and revealed from the past month. This month the community team was joined by producer Orcun Adsoy and lead designer Jim Stimpson to talk about dinosaurs, scientists, and a certain German gaming magazine:

Dino Data:

Throughout July we've shared the final bit of Dino Data from Jurassic World Evolution, and we've gathered everything we've shared in the list below.
  • T. rex would probably prefer to be number 1 on the list of released dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution, but she only made it to number 15. This makes sense given that they're harder to produce and prefer their own company.
  • The carnivores in Jurassic World Evolution have been pretty hungry and have eaten almost a billion goats combined! We hope they gave them a satisfying meal, and made them less inclined to eat the guests.
  • Going out on expeditions have been a central part of building your Jurassic World. In total, the Jurassic World Evolution Park Managers have managed to unearth billions of items ranging from fossils, minerals and treasures from various dig sites across the world.
  • The dinosaurs face many challenges in Jurassic World Evolution, from disease to old age and fighting. More than twice as many dinosaurs have died from old age than from fighting or disease. You must have been taking excellent care of these amazing animals, Park Managers!
  • There are a lot of dinosaur genomes to complete in Jurassic World Evolution. Our players have completed tens of millions of genomes, letting them more easily bio-engineer dinosaurs when they alter their genetic makeup. Can you guess the top five completed genomes?
  • The top five dinosaur genomes completed by players are the same as the top five dinosaurs released in the game. The only variation is the order! Were you able to guess them all correctly?
    1. Struthiomimus
    2. Triceratops
    3. Ceratosaurus
    4. Velociraptor
    5. Edmonotsaurus
That's it for this Month's Round-up! We will see you again in August.
