Jurassic World Evolution Announcement

Although really hyped for this new game / simulation my question would be will PC will be put on the shelf to gather dust?

PC feels unfinished for me re optimisation, content and management. I hope Frontier can fix these issues before looking at other products. PC should have at least an ongoing 5yr business plan to bring to the masses before looking at the next version.

I was also hoping Frontier would have released a dinosaur expansion pack for PC, guess that is out of question now with this news.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't say that PC will be put on the shelf. Look at all the continued updates and expansions for Elite Dangerous, even after PC was launched. Frontier will have dedicated teams for each game, and with JWE not being released until next summer, there is plenty of time for PC updates and expansions.

Each game will no doubt already have a 5-10 year structure in place to keep each game going. ED and PC currently have a very loyal fanbase, and I can't see Frontier wanting to let those slip.

As for a dinosaur expansion to PC...never say never! This might actually serve as a way for Jurassic Park themeing to come to PC, as well as their own take on it all.

I think that this is a great way for Frontier to continue exposing their name and products to the world. Most people have seen this announcement and gone "Oooo, this reminds me of Jurassic Park Operation Genesis", and so will want to see what else Frontier have done. I know a few people that I showed PC to and then they saw that Frontier did ED, and are now playing ED non-stop [haha] So, it's really a good thing that Frontier are making themselves a bigger name.

Nothing but positives in my opinion [up]

The game was announced yesterday and there were already screens to show and stuff.

It's fair to assume Frontier has been working on Jurassic World Evolution for quite some time now. Most probably since the release of Planet Coaster.
Despite that, they still continued the development of Planet Coaster and i don't think this will change anytime soon.

Brett even responded in another thread some time ago that there are still short-term AND long-term plans for Planet Coaster.

So im pretty sure you can relax, nothing much will change because of this news :)

This concern was brought up on the PC Reddit as well and Bo replied stating there will still be support for Planet Coaster [happy]

That's right. Brett confirmed that Frontier has plans for Planet Coaster, for the short term as well as for the longer term. [big grin]

I can't wait for Jurassic Evolution to come out! Looks like it will be another 12 months before it does.

I really hope they have an Alpha Program or Early Bird program for it. I got this game when it was in Alpha, April last year. I love Planet Coaster too.

As for Planet Coaster, dude, the full version of the game has not been out for even 12 months yet. We've already seen a lot of improvement and new things and tweaks since this game was in Alpha. I really appreciate the work Frontier has done in this game. The graphics and ideas are A+

As for optimizations, you can't run this game on a cheap computer. You need to buy a gaming computer which meets their RECOMMENDED requirements, if you want any chance of playing it on the higher settings (which is a GTX 980 or better, and a quad core processor and over 8GB RAM).

As for expansion packs, a WATER based expansion pack has been the MOST requested out of this community. swimming pools, water slides, diving boards. And maybe bumper boats and jet boating. I totally don't mind if we have to pay for it. I just want it real bad!
