Just a few pics from my current trip in my ExplOrca- nothing too exciting

Looking at a blue star
Screenshot_0000.jpg

Small brown star eclipsing an M type.
Screenshot_0003.jpg

4 Terraformables in pairs. 2 water worlds with high metal worlds.
Screenshot_0005.jpg

A baby gas giant, just 2.7x the mass of the earth.
Screenshot_0012.jpg

Not too common, a rocky icy planet with a water atmosphere. I guess if it was further from the star it would be cooler and possibly even a water world. Not sure how on earth it can be called an icy world with that temperature though.

Here is a closer look

First two planets in this system had Argon rich atmospheres, this one Neon. Its a rather noble system... *ba doom tish!*

This was an interesting system, a number of gas giants, all close to the primary (two were life bearing as i recall), and orbits so close they were almost on the same orbital path like at Lagrange points or something, but not quite. Anyway, was a damn easy system to scan.

You ever get the feeling, when you are looking at stars, they are looking right back at you?

A water world moon! Love finding things like this, so rare. And yes, there were terraformables and another water world in the system.

My second or third ever Herbig.

Time to pose

And another pose

One of those systems, which can freak you out as you jump in.
Screenshot_0045.jpg

Something else fairly rare. A rocky world with a Helium atmosphere.
Screenshot_0053.jpg

And some systems just have a silly configuration.
Screenshot_0054.jpg

This was a fun little run, all the small metal rich worlds, nicely lined up close together for scanning (something like 6 worlds almost in a line with about 200LS from first to last).

That's all for now. Hope you enjoyed the pics.

Rep for being the first that I know of who has explored in an Orca. They look a lot better in the selfies than an Asp.

Have a look around, there are other crazies like me. There is another ExplOrca thread a little down the forum.

The purple paintjob doesn't look great though. White is nicer.

I was considering exploring in an Orca once my current long trip will (hopefully) allow me to buy one. But then I heard its jump range is a meager 16ly. Have you managed to increase over that?

I've got 18-19 on mine. Its fine. My current setup is something like this: http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=60p,,2-6u8S7_A06u6u6k,mpU50U0Nw7Re0KU2jw2UI

I disagree with EddyRockSteady's terminology though. 40LY is just rushing to destinations - aka, sightseeing. What you do with a low jump range is surveying. Bounce around promising systems looking for those earthlikes and stuff.

In my current run i went fairly directly out, about 6000LY, and then started just following random nearby G and F type stars (my favs for finding earthlikes and water worlds).

I love how the Orca looks. It is like a Space Cruise Ship.

And those systems with the planet strings not really orbiting anything in particular get me every time. Not only that, but in yours you have like 4x orbitception...
