Newcomer / Intro Just a heads up if you think all outposts are safe from security scan...

I just got scanned at one. Maybe because it's a communist government, idk? Maybe something new added or could have been some sort of conflict that brought them in while I was loading commodities into me cargo space but just a heads up to keep you reminded that it could happen. :)

I think it was just because the game spawned a system authority ship into your instance. I've been scanned at an outpost before, but only the once.

I am guessing that it was because it was not an anarchy system. They don't have government to scan (or don't care depending on your interpretation of anarchy).

I encountered a few military outpost that are very well guarded by authority ships. It is almost impossible to dock there without getting scanned. Large stations are much easier to sneak into then these guarded outposts.

No one said you were safe from scans at outposts.
There's just no static security at outposts and that makes it uncommon to run into feds.

Got scanned in a Anarchy system yesterday. Was weird. I was interdicting another CMDR. I was practicing interdictions, so wasn't firing at the guy, and was chatting with him and told him he was safe. An NPC popped in and started scanning. Then came the NPC text of "Scan was clean. You're free to proceed". I targeted the NPC and it was a Security ship. In anarchy space???? Wasn't sure if that was a glitch, or if they randomly appear outside of their jurisdiction. I had half a mind to light him up to see what would happen! :)

Military Outpost...those are the ones that scan....check the type of outpost when you selected as destination in SC....so you know what to expect...this info piece is never available in the system map, btw.
