If Frontier ever considered doing an engineered high efficiency fuel scoop it would really transform the DBX into an even better explorer. Only being able to have a small fuel scoop is not a deal breaker but more of a nuisance. I think this solution would be better than adding a size 5 internal slot which would really alter what I think Frontier wanted the role of the DBX to be. Just my 2 cents...
On an exploration DBX, you don't really need weapons so you can fit a Low Emissions+Thermal Spread Power Plant. See here for instance.
The DBX is then so cold that it can orbit a star without ever going over 65% heat, while refueling at 343 kg/s.
Of course, even better scooping power wouldn't be bad, but I don't feel like it is really needed to make the DBX a great ship (which it is already). Plus, would that come at the cost of some power usage ?

I agree with Matt, the scooping in the DBX is fine, especially when engineered as a cool runner. You can always hit max rate and the tank fills fast enough, and anyway you should be scanning stuff and scooping while you do so.
