Just about fed up with the Imperial Navy

I am currently at the rank of Serf. I complete a mission for the Imperial navy and the mission text said, "I am pleased to tell you, you have received a promotion for your service." Great. Then I go to look and I'm still a Serf.

If you say you are going to promote me, then promote me, Damn it!! If you aren't then just thank me for my service. I HATE liars!!!!!

I've been told after you get promoted you need to change systems. So I did. I flew a bit more than 100 ly to Liabeze and this happened. Grrrrr. I'll try logging off and logging back on.

This wouldn't be so bad except this is the only way you can buy an Imperial Clipper. They make a ship that you have to have a certain naval rank for and they don't work out all the bugs in the naval ranking system. That's that what the brits would call a nutter.

Nope. Logged out, quit the laucher, logged back in. Still a Serf. Getting real old, real fast. I wish there was somewhere I could buy the Imperial Clipper on a black market. I'm just about ready to say Frak this felgercarb. I don't mean the game. I mean trying to get a clipper. Must be nice to be one of the special ones. This is monstrous NONSENSE!!! I jump through the hoops and then don't get the prize. The Imperial Navy owes me 3 rank. There have been 3 times when they told me I have received a promotion and nothing!! Thanks FD!!!

I don't think you get a permit until you get to Lord or some such. Master seems a bit low to be allowing in to the capitol system. But maybe that's broken too.

No. There was no promotion, period. I wouldn't mind going from Serf 3rd class to Serf 2nd class. Or from 2nd class to 1st class, but there's just Serf. So if they say I have received a promotion then I should be Master rank.

Ok. Let's sum it up. I did a mission for the Imp Navy. I received a promotion to Outsider. I did more missions 2 of which they said I had received a promotion but my rank was still outsider. I should have been Master according to their promotion promises. I did another mission and was promoted to Serf. I did 3 more missions each of which included the text, "You have received a promotion", but I still show as Serf rank. With all these promotion statements I should be a Baron and able to buy the Imperial Clipper. But can I? Hear the hollow laugh. I don't mind jumping through the hoops. I do mind jumping through them and not getting what they promised. I understand the rank progression fairly well. I just want them to be honest in their dealings with me. If they say I have received a promotion, I expect to have it. Otherwise their word is no good. I am just about ready to defect over this and go with the Alliance. I don't want to. But what good is the Empire if they don't keep their word? :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I don't know how many missions I did to get Baron I forget, I just remember I did as many as I could as fast as I could. I picked three systems next to each other two were blue one was a yellow with a station that had 60% Empire Influence meaning it had a Empire group issuing missions on the billboard among Independent group missions which I ignored. I bounced between these three systems going mainly to three different stations completing as many Empire missions as fast as I could. I did warzone missions, delivery and acquire goods every donation mission that came up and target missions. I did every ascension and Imperial Liaison mission.

I really focused on the Independent System Mac OG and tried my hardest to force the Sitakapa Empire League up in power over the Independents eventually there were conflict zones with Mac OG Liberals I think they were called they even sent ships to interdict me and ask me to deliver Empire quest goods to them instead, which I ignored. :D

What system are you in?

I just made baron for delivering 1 piece of clothing, one jump.. :p

But I started ranking for empire nearly 5 weeks ago or so, I don't see any reason to rank further.

I've tried several. Cubeo, which is the headquarters of my patron, Aisling, Liabeze, Wababa [sp?], Kaiakul and a few others I can't remember the names of.

This last mission said "Your ascension through the ranks is assured. All hail the Emperor! Bask in his glory" but didn't tell me I was promoted. When I looked afterward I had been promoted to Master. This is the craziest system I've ever seen. They tell you you have been promoted and then don't and then they don't say a word about promoting you and do.:S

Well, they kind of are. Powerplay is basically 3D Risk in space.
