i agree, there are a couple of stations that are close-in like the beta starting station around Eranin ... forget the name ... but I wish there were a lot more including a couple around Earth!
Yeah, so beautiful, I wish us Thargoids could call it home - maybe next year we can (cue evil laugh )

Low orbit stations would be inefficient as they'd need piles of fuel to stay up. Better at the LaGrange points.
In germany we have such things at night in public TV together with chill out music since 1994. Its called Space Night and have many fans
