I see there are many separate tools you can use for ED, and that got me thinking. I thought it would be nice to have a stand alone application that links all the tools together in one place so you don't have to maintain all the separate tools. Ideally "in my head anyway" I envisioned a program you can have running on a second monitor that incorporates all the most popular tools, having tabs for trading searching for stations and modules, star systems etc, a journal tab, fleet tab etc etc. Something can be utilized offline as well as during play. a program that matches the look and feel of ED GUI allowing you to change the appearance just like you can ingame. Perhaps even have a separate tab allowing you to set a colour scheme for both the game and the application. ideally it would be able to interact with the game allowing you to look up a system and then press a button to have it set the destination in game (granted I don't know what the limitations are for 3rd party programs within the game) maybe have a copy button for places if you can't straight inject a selection to the game.
have the program allow you to select your current ship and either change the loadout or browse through user created load outs (for those of us that don't know any better) then show you where you can purchase all the modules/ship in one place. One click and it takes you to the galaxy browser to set destination (copy location name)
I realize that not everyone has a second monitor but the application would still (in my opinion) be a boon to the game. Not having to keep tabs on every separate 3rd party tool and having it all in one place. Perhaps it can link in to existing webtools to download information. I don't know was just a thought I had.
