Not sure how you can compare ED with NMS.....apart from the fact hat they both set in space there isn't much they have in common. Having said that...although I still have fun playing ED I get really frustrated at the lack of imagination shown by the game designers in some areas. Engineers for example was a great idea totally ruined by a boring game mechanic.....how much better would it have been for instance if they had implemented a mission system for progressing through the grades of any given piece of hardware you wanted to upgrade? The mission system is already in the game so it wouldn't have taken much extra work to link it to engineer upgrades......instead of this we have to mindlessly grind level 1 sturdy mounts we'll never use just so we can progress to level 3 or whatever. Totally unimaginative and uninspiring game design.
