Just bought a Plasma Accelerator...

...for my Viper and I am disappointed. I always wondered what kind of weapon it would be which costs over 800'000 credits...well now I know. Nobody told me that 2x class 1 beam lasers were more effective than this overpriced weapon. I mean it does almost no damage to the 'conda's shield and if it hits the hull it does about 3 % damage (which would normally be ok but not for this price). Be aware commanders, spend your money on more important things (like onion heads ;)!

I don't know, I tried Class 2 Plasma Accelerators, and they certainly dealt a serious amount of damage for me. But I didn't care for the slow firing cycle and travel time of the bolts. When they connect, they definitely tear things up, but, like you, I prefer the immediacy of the Beam Lasers. I am sure with enough practice and adjustment in fighting strategy, the accelerators can be quite formidable. The key is probably to have an agile vessel that allows you fight in close proximity and hold your position in the blind zone of the opponent. With a large ship like the anaconda, you want to keep close and outside the reach of the turrets.

They do splash damage, you should see what they do to internal components, Power plants pop after a couple of shots...

Loved having a pair of C2's on my Asp, but the ammo got expensive fast. :)

I suppose that if you are shooting to a capital ship (huge, slow moving) they might result more effective than the beam lasers

Woah, settle down hombre.

The Plasma Accelerator does brutal hull damage when shields are down.

They are not very good against shields.

I had triple plasmas on my Python for a while to smash conda hulls...they are very powerful.

Check the loadout in this pic...Elite Anaconda that i just wrecked.

i'd say they are pretty cool on a combat viper. Though the ammo is too expensive for the amount of damage they do compared to other weapons

hmm maby it was so bad because I only had a single class 1 mounted... I'll try it again as soon as I get to the Python or ASP
