Just bought and want to upgrade to horizons

Hello, I just brought elite Dangerous and love it. Just got the Cobra MK III after a weekend of his doing and want to get the horizons season pass. I notice the commander edition is on sale for the same price as the season pass. My question is if i get that version will I loose my ship and have to start over since it is a new version, I would like to get that version.. Or do i have to just get the season pass to keep everything I did already?

Nevermind. Just took a chance and purchased commander edition and still kept everything. Yea!!

Steam don't appear to be having a sale nor the Frontier Store.
Have you actually bought the correct thing if you want to update ED to be with Horizons?

Well, he reports having "kept everything" .... so it sounds like he's in the game.

Support have in the past refunded people who bought the wrong item initially and then bought the combined package - might be worth asking. After all why pay £60 for a £40 product?
