Newcomer / Intro Just bought game... unable to complete pre-flight checklist!

I don't know what to do! :-s I just bought the game, and I cannot complete any pre-flight checklist items for my first launch! Even though I press all the right keys, the "Manoeuvre Thrusters" or "Throttle Range" categories items will just not complete! :-(

I use keyboard and mouse only, I do not have a joystick or anything.

Help??

it might be a fouled up glitch but I'd suggestion bringing up the options for controls and make sure it is properly selected for keyboard and mouse defaults. If it's not on the default, it should say "custom" at the top drop-down there, in which case, you remapped something.

So reset and/or make sure that it is set to keyboard and mouse. After that, scroll down the list there and make sure you are using the right control pieces as specified for those command checks.

If you really want to do pre-flight checks you gotta hold each button down for a few seconds to complete.
But why not simply switch off pre-flight check in the system panel on your right side?

Thanks Macman. :) Holding down the button did the trick! It was still a little odd though, especially with the throttle buttons, I had to try a few times.

Pre-flight check was definitely already turned off... I think the preflight is required for your first launch no matter what.

Two new issues... apparently my paint job is stuck at 99%, and i can't seem to repair it... Also my ship's hull on the display says 99%, but when I'm in the dock trying to repair, it says I'm at 100%. Weird.

Go into the sub menus on the repair list and manually click the arrow next to the wear and tear option, should cost roughly 10 creds to hit that 100% mark ;) Not really needed, but I'm OCD like that :D

Besides do a Full Repair there's a Repair List menu. If not work then it's the bug of saved data when you have a conection drop. Strange data shows differently when at dock to outside apparently. I had the bug of not finishing a cargo job during which I got DC. On coming back in the option to Discard that mission vanished yet the mission did not. I eventually found the cargo over 50lys away and thought of filling my 4 bays and returning with 20k credits of Indite. I gave them it and I got about 160 credits for it thus making about a 20k loss!
I hate being ripped off and my time is important.

Did all that, still didn't help. Unmapped, remapped, deleted save. Still nothing. The other buttons make the short-out sound when i press them out of order but this one doesn't even blink.
