Just bought , unplayable block graphics , need some advice here ;)

Hi,

i just bought the game , installed and i had some trouble using the launcher. Reinstalled all "redist" Librariers , updated all drivers, now i at least can launch the game ,however with
the extreme artifacts as seen on the picture. Any Advice ?

(GFX is a Radeon 480)

Thanks ,

No , all stock settings , i can add a dxdiag if anyone needs it. I never had that much trouble before with any game at all ;) Elite hates me it seems

That looks very wrong & is usually indicative of a very sick GPU, by overclocking, heat, or drivers, or a combination of any/all 3.

Does it look any different if you run the "Single Player Combat Training" - i..e. "Play Demo"? That is an old 32 bit application and is less demanding.

If that runs OK then maybe you can check to see if the non-Horizons game runs better than in Horizons - and finally you can reduce your graphics setting in-game to lower than currently set.

All those would give indications of what it tripping you up. I know nothing about the Radeon stuff so I suppose the card is above the min spec for Horizons?

I had an old r9 380, which ran 1080p with everything turned up in display settings, it looked gorgeous

have you got yours turned up in game options

Hi WyattMax,

Not sure if this is the same thing but you say your running a Radeon RX480 with updated drivers, by any chance are you using the new Adrenalin 2020 drivers, 19.12.2 or 19.12.3?

I'm using a Radeon Vega 64 and I've experienced graphic corruption followed by a crash with the new 2020 drivers. After the crash I realised it was just the diaplay that had gone funny (in a bad way). I could still hear the game running in the background and it still responded to key presses but I could not see anything but a frozen image of the last thing I was looking at or a black screen.

If it helps, I rolled back to the 19.12.1 drivers which solved my problems. You can still download them from this AMD webpage... 19.12.1 Drivers. I've also taken the time to report the problem to AMD using Radeon settings, "report issues online".

Failing that, make sure your not running an overclock on the 480 (which your not) and that your not missing any other drivers in device manager.

Hope this is of some help.
