I always wondered why ranking up in the Federation or Empire doesn't grant you elevated regional control merit?
I went to a region that was under Empire control. Even the station had 'Long live the emperor' written on the screens above the mail-slot.
So as it happens, I am King in Empire. I go to a mission contact, and whoattt??? I don't have the reputation to pick up a mission?? You what man?! I'd like to meet this idiot face to face. Tell him that.. I AM A KING IN THE EMPIRE. I arrived at the station in the Imperial Flagship, with all the imperial banners glinting in the sunlight... And he's telling me I am not important enough to give a mission to? [woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah][woah]
What gives?
Surely, smaller regional faction representatives should address YOU as a representative of the overall governing super power holding that territory; against your overall standing and rank. Sure if I were only a 'Serf' I can understand the reluctance. But KING? Hell this guy should be grovelling like his whole life is suddenly on trial... Not telling me I'm not important enough to pick up a semi-pointless courier mission.
