Just destroyed a Python in my Type 9 :-)

One of my first few trade runs with my Type 9 just now, and I got interdicted. It was a Python! I was thinking that it was going to be an insurance claim for sure plus the loss of all my cargo. However, my beam laser turrets totally cooked him :) He only landed a few shots on me. He was a Novice NPC though.

I should have submitted to the interdiction though - repair bill was 40k and the bounty was only 32k.

Has given me more confidence in my choice of weapons for the T9 :)

It's got the Hardpoints and the Power Plant to deal a firepower equivalent to a fully equipped ASP, so taking down even larger NPC ships is indeed possible.
I'm extremely surprised you got interdicted by a Python, though... The only ones that try to take me on in a Type-9 are Sidewinders, Eagles, Vipers and an occasional ASP.
(all of them I confuse by thrusterung FA off backwards and just keeping my nose exactly on them - makes them either freak out competely or freeze drifting FA together with me 300m right in front of my nose; sometimes for a full Minute and even if I retract Hardpoints again just to see their oddball Airshow ;) )

Its combat rank based, sadly... a huge punishment if you rank up in combat then trade lol

I killed an Anaconda in my type 6 once, it was a long time ago though and the NPC just stopped flying once his shields were down so it was pretty easy to avoid the turreted weapons.

Hey I'm not claiming it was great victory, but it WAS a victory! :D

That is good work!

I nearly killed a Python a while back in my T7. It was a really epic battle and great fun. I think I could have won, but sadly he shot my canopy out and I had really low grade life support, so eventually I died. The only ships I really really fear now when trading are the Clipper and the Anaconda.
